Splinterlands: STUN Ability is Indeed Stunning

Hello Splinterlands Lovers,

Taking down a foe far stronger than yourself gives you an unknown sense of pride and pleasure. I myself recently encountered a far more stronger enemy. Looking at the initial battle placement, one could imagine thought that I never stood a chance. But to my surprise I came out victorious.

Stun ability that I never considered a match winning ability, proved to be a game changer.

The enemy was huge, laced with legendaries(Summoners and Monsters) having amazing abilities like Blast, Heal, Tank Heal, Triage, Magic Reflect, Demoralize and Last Stand. Where as I had my own abilities like Stun, Silence, Opportunity, Inspire and Scavenger. Among all of my abilities Stun ability played a crucial role in my victory.

Team Selection and Placement

I used DARIA DRAGONSCALE summoner for this battle becuase I love giving my melee attack monsters +1 attack boost from summoner.

At the very front, I placed the STONE GOLEM. The plan was to utilize it's Shield ability and I never thought about Stun ability. Also it had melee attack of 4 due to summoner and inspire ability.

On one down position, I placed.MUSHROOM SEER, to hamper the enemy's magic attack ability..

On third rank, I placed SCREECHING VULTURE, due to it's Opportunity and Scavenger ability.

Next, I placed my BROWNIE, have Inspire ability for all of my melee attack monsters.

On the 2nd last position, I placed DRAGON JUMPER. Another strong opportunity attack monster.

On the very last, I used SPIRIT SHAMAN. The idea was to take advantage of Divine Shield ability. Again, I never thought of Stun ability.

Remarks

This was a pitched battle. I got wrongfooted from the start when enemy used GOLD DRAGON upfront(I was expecting melee attack monster). But, thanks to the Stun ability of SPIRIT SHAMAN, GOLD DRAGON never got a chance to attack. The Stun ability also played a crucial in the last round killing the KRON THE UNDYING having enhanced health, attack and speed(18 health, 5 magic attack and 3 speed) due to Last Stand ability. Mostly Stun and Opportunity abilities were responsible for my victory. But the inability of the enemy to challenge monsters in my back ranks, was also a reason.
