@edicted's perfectly wonderful proposal!

The initial draft.

The proposal is for the inflation currently going to sp holders to go to savings holders.

Not all of it, mind you, just a yet to be determined %.

I figure no more than 5%.

That would make the deal, 10% for sp holders, and 5% for (nearly) cash steem holders.

I think that being able to hold cash, subject to the three day access currently standard in the wallet, that will draw (some) interest, would attract some attention.

Holding liquid steem in the savings account will not give voting rights to the steem, that would still require powering up.

Holding steem in an interest bearing account will attract the speculators that only want to speculate on the steem price mooning while not suffering the full effects of the inflation that holding on an exchange gets them.

They can hold the steem securely, yet still have access to it, in 3 days.

I think this is a much better proposal than dropping the vesting period to 30 days.

I'd go for, maybe, 45?

There needs to be some benefits to holding steem, and that requires tradeoffs. Remove the tradeoffs and you remove the benefits, in some cases.

Obviously, we have failed to reach escape velocity and have crashed twice now.

It's been past time to get some things done.

I'm glad the snow ball is rolling again.

Let's pick up this idea on the way to the launch pad, eh?

Procured from a user back when steem still had hopes.
