Steemit Inc. hat zurückgeschlagen und mit Hilfe von mindestens drei Exchanges (poloniex, huobi und binance) alle 20 Wittnesses ausgetauscht und durch Steemit Inc.-kontrollierte Sock-Puppet-Witnesses ersetzt und damit die Chain komplett zentralisiert. Whoa!

Das ist echt der Wahnsinn und in einem neuen Open Letter gibt Steemit Inc. den alten Witnesses die Schuld, da sie davor alle ninja-mined Assets von Steemit Inc. eingefroren haben, um genau so eine Situation wie jetzt zu verhindern, dass Steemit Inc. alle Witnesses kontrolliert und bestimmt.

Eine positive Sache gibt es aber auch, das Ganze ist eine wichtige Lektion für Steem und die gesamte Krypto-Community über die Schwächen von (delegated) Proof of Stake-Systemen und wie Exchanges ihre Macht missbrauchen und das betrifft nicht nur Steem sondern ist ein generelles Problem in der Kryptowelt.

Ähnlich wie auch in der Demokratie. Wenn fast niemand zur Wahl geht, genügen einige wenige Stimmen, um eine absolute Mehrheit zu bekommen und den gesamten Staat zu übernehmen.

Bin jedenfalls gespannt, wie es weitergeht. Denke, wir sollten die Sache deeskalieren und versuchen Steem zu retten und es vielleicht jetzt noch besser und dezentraler machen.

Was sagt ihr zu der jüngsten Entwicklung? Hard Fork oder versuchen weiter mit Steemit Inc. zusammenzuarbeiten und die Sache deeskalieren?

Just wanted to do a dpoll post and now I know why dpoll.io and steemapps.com are down at the moment.

Steemit Inc. strikes back and with the help of at least three Exchanges (poloniex, huobi and binance) replaced all 20 Wittnesses with Steemit Inc. controlled sock puppet witnesses and thus completely centralized the chain. Whoa!

This is really insane and in a new open letter Steemit Inc. blames the old Witnesses for freezing all ninja-mined assets of Steemit Inc. before to prevent a situation like this from happening, where Steemit Inc. controls and dictates all Witnesses.

There is one positive thing though, this is an important lesson for the whole crypto community about the weaknesses of (delegated) proof of stake (PoS) systems and how Exchanges abuse their power and this is not only a problem for Steem but a general problem in crypto space.

It's also similar to democracy. When almost nobody goes to the polls, a few votes are enough to get an absolute majority and control the whole state.

In any case I am curious how it will go on now. I think we should de-escalate and try to save Steem and maybe make it better and more decentralized in the future.
