Who Do I Follow On Steem & Why?
I hear @theycallmedan has requested a quick update of whom I follow here and why. The new me (a more participating member of the community) is welcoming this engaging challenge with a compiled list of strangers who became friends and family and people I admire and look up to.
So. Who do I actually follow and why?
When one is hunting for who to follow, one has to be very in touch with what one likes and such. I am no different. I love poets but my time here has seen me develop a taste for freewrites, deep thinkers and even scientific posts.
In no particular order, let's start with one...
He is a master in weaving profound thoughts into healthy long paragraphs that leave one's mind both impressed and nourished. His reads poke curiosity and tie you to the power of his costumized opinions to the last word. One can't help but admire his dedication to his family and this community.
The fact that he finds time to read my gibberish compared to his writing fluency is the most coolest thing. The fact that he supports it and offers ideas to help me grow is something I appreciate exceedingly.
Oh. And he is also responsible for breaking down the chain for me and spoon feeding my untechnical mind with the how this community works.

She offers sober and different perspectives on a community emerging from the chains of greed and bots. Her ways of engaging this community are beyond creative if you asked me. The fact that she is also so supportive of my work (especially poetry) makes her so much cooler.

She is the mother freewrites. A community that was quick to adopt me back when I didn't trust my own pens. I have been encouraged to write and share things I never thought I would in form of poetry and short stories.
She's also responsible for helping me meet amazing writers and poets like @wandrnrose7, @kimberlylane, @owasco, @felt.buzz, @aislingcronin, and recently @tristancarax and @redheadpei among others ♡

Then there's one...
We found each other on through a mutual friend's comment section and followed each other over our love for poetry.
He thinks its weird that I call him mwalim which translates into teacher from our local Swahili language. But he is somehow a teacher to me. His poetry writing skills are way out of my league and for that I respect his pens. We also have this plan to discuss Africa's authorship and the future of the chain over some blunts when #steemfestafrica comes.
That idea includes one...
This one has been my support behind the curtains. Our souls connected on a deeper level and I absolutely love her! She checks up on me and puts up with my swaying moods so much to be termed as a stranger.
I am also trying to learn how to package story telling from her way of doing it or expressing my dark thoughts the way she does hers.
Do you understand the awesomeness of finding someone who fully gets you? I am that lucky. Lucky to have her and one...
I call her Mrs. Trumpman because she is. Or the queen of insects. The capable force behind #ruthphotostories and the poetry that tag comes with. She's been a friend and a pillar here for such a long while now. The how she believes in me, my work and capabilities makes me believe a lil bit more in myself.
This is because she and one...
... have me on auto votes. To me, that is huge. It is being accorded a responsibility to produce good content. I hope I am meeting those standards.
Good standards. Like his art. Or his way of expressing himself through his art. Its different and provocative in a fearless way. I love his work.

For every market there is a crazy soul who defies everything, mine harbours one...
Who is a crazy Finnish self and a certified clown. I love how he easily draws out the crazy side in me. He also bakes which entices my tastebuds and keeps my munchies on the high.

...simply because she is the Queen of Science and a goddamn good fictional writer.
Plus
... who is missing in action. He had to put up with my naivety and support my everything at the beginning stages of my journey here. He had become my brother and a confidant over time and I am so sorry that his health has had him in chains away from the chain and this community. Wishing him good health soonest! ♡
