Today I present in unstackablestackbles, my little pepperette, also known as a pepper pot.

I got this little gem 3-4 years ago on eBay during my investment time of sterling silver tableware. It has a blue glass liner to keep the pepper from the silver. I know with sterling silver salt shakers, a glass lined shaker is better as salt will chemically react with the sterling silver and turn all teal colored. It's not very attractive for sure when that happens. I don't believe that pepper will do the same, however, if you wanted to use it for salt, you've got the liner.

The spoon that came with this pepperette was not sterling, but silver plate. The folks we purchased from were very upfront about that, so it was not a surprise. It just happened to fit the pepperette.

The hallmarks on this indicate that it is a Robert Pringle & Sons creation. I've only been able to narrow down the year to somewhere between 1912 and 1947. It has a walking lion passant indicating sterling silver, and a letter that appears to maybe be a very fancy L, but I've not been able to find anything out about that.

It has very ornate claw type feet and is overall a very pretty piece.

It weighs in at 1.46 Troy Ounces.

I believe there is a matching salt shaker for this, but I have not been able to find one for sale thus far.

Thanks for stopping by! Please leave your comments below, and have a wonderful day/evening!
