Today I cover the Bank of England's emergency interest rate cut from 0.75% to 0.25% as the Old Lady of Threadneedle Street conducted an emergency meeting late yesterday (March 20, 2020). Alongside the monetary stimulus, the U.K. government has also thrown all caution to the wind and announced record borrowing and spending.

The Powers that Be do not trust markets to do their job naturally so it is not surprising to see Central Bankers and Politicians resorting to what they know best which is intervening and borrowing even more money.

My conclusion for today is that one should expect stagflation as the Bank and the government pump the system with more and more debt and the economy comes to a grinding halt.
