Continuing our small new series of the American Half Dollars Commemoratives, we will today present the "1934 Boone".

As all the commemorative half dollars, it weights 12,5g with a 90% silver purity.

It commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Daniel Boone, a famous frontierman, trapper and explorer.

In spite of that the bicentennial would only be commemorated on 1934, these coins were minted since 1934 to 1938.

NGC graded 1077 mint state 1934 Boone, with 475 MS-65 and 210 graded above.

A total of 10,000 1934 coins were distributed. Today's price is around U$200.00 in this grade.

The obverse shows the bust of a young man, said to represent Boone, as there is no original portrait of the pioneer.

The reverse shows Shawnee Chief Black Fish standing with Daniel Boone, who held in one hand a Peace Treaty and in the other a musket.
