No, not 673 pieces of silver... although, I wish!!! 😂

My last silver round arrived in the mail today! Yippee! I bought two with fiat $$$ and they arrived a month ago. This is the one that I received through the kindness of @katrina-ariel who nominated me though a nomination post to receive a free Steem silver round. So, to Katrina, I say: THANK YOU! and {BigHugs}.

This beautiful, shiny piece of metal is an expertly-minted round of 99.9% pure silver by the North American Mint. Silver is a precious metal, which makes it an excellent investment, along with certain other metals and precious gemstones.

These silver rounds — not called "coins" since they were not issued by a government as legal tender — with the Steem logo have been produced for the past three years by the SteemSilverGold Community. The 2017 and 2018 rounds were pictured in the post 2019 STEEM silver round now on SALE this past September. A total of 777 of the 2019 rounds were sold, not as many as had been hoped, but not a bad number.

Many thanks to @raybrockman for his tireless work getting this round produced! As far as I know, he was the primary contact with the North American Mint and arranged for the rounds to be produced. When the order was completed, he was the one who received delivery of all 777 rounds, sorted them, matched them with the COAs (Certificates of Authenticity), packaged them for shipment to those who ordered, addressed the envelopes, stamped them, delivered them to the Post Office, and then [hopefully] took a well-deserved break!!! For a brief glimpse into what @raybrockman's house looked like during that process, check out Steem silver round in Ray's blog. So, yes, many thanks, Ray! 💙
