Read "A New Decade Of Travel" on TravelFeed.io for the best experience

We're starting into a new decade of travel. It's hard to imagine that even just 10 years ago the term Digital Nomad didn't even exist. Travel and the way we live while being on the road has changed considerably. We predict that the travel industry and everything connected to it is far from reaching the peak.

Travel has a huge impact around the world, good and bad. And we urge everyone to emphasise the good side of it. There is no reason that we shouldn't be able to move around in a sustainable way in this day and age. There is no reason that we can't have accommodation without pushing out people. And travel is so much more than chasing items on a bucket list.

Travel is the key to understanding others, learning from others and learning about yourself. Travel is the key to a peaceful future.

We're excited to see what we're all have accomplished by 2030. Happy travels to everyone and a great start into the new year and decade.

And a very quick update, we've rolled out our new image implementation, resulting in a much smoother experience. A click on any photo in the post will bring you to a fullscreen preview and a gallery of all the post's photos. Also, portrait photos are now resized to fit the screen. More features and improvements will roll around until the next announcement in a week from now.

How to Get Involved?

Are you not on TravelFeed yet? We invite you to check out TravelFeed.io and to join our over 1000-member-strong community on Discord. We’re also looking for one more curator to join our team.

We ❤️ Open Source: We are proud to make TravelFeed fully Open-Source, and support other communities on Steem who want to build on our code, which can be found on Github. We’re still looking for contributors who want to work with us on the future of TravelFeed. We’re in Beta and continuously improving the software, meaning that there are still some bugs. If you notice anything or have feedback for us, please don’t hesitate to contact us on our Discord, leave a comment or open a bug report on our Github!

Consider Delegating To Us

Your delegation not only supports the growth of this incredible project, but also helps the entire travel community on the Steem blockchain. Once we launch our token, the airdrop to delegators will be based on the amount of SteemPower delegated and your share of the total delegations for each day delegated. This means an advantage for early investors delegating now. Our Steem Power is fully used for curation of the best TravelFeed posts and we provide temporary delegations to accounts created through us, to help with resource credits. Feel free to use the following links according to the amount you would like to delegate to @travelfeed:

100 SP | 250 SP | 500 SP | 1000 SP
2500 SP | 5000 SP | 10000 SP
15000 SP | 25000 SP
50000 SP

And again, we'd like to thank every single delegator who believes and trusts in us. If TravelFeed becomes as successful as we are confident it will be, delegating to us is probably the investment with the highest ROI on Steem right now.

Winners of This Week's Round-up

And with all this exciting news, we don't want to forget to highlight our three favorite TravelFeed.io posts from this week. The rewards will go to the first three places as follows: 1st place - 14 STEEM, 2nd place - 7 STEEM and 3rd place - 3 STEEM.

Place 1

Experience the Margaret River Region written by @paulmp

About 20 years ago I travelled from where I lived in Brisbane, Queensland on the east coast of Australia to the far south western corner of Western Australia for the very first time. I'd grown up in Australia and had seen most of the eastern half of it by then, but had never ventured any further west than the half way point.

Place 2

Ice Fishing in the Cariboo written by @journeyofanomad

Fortunately there is one winter activity that I enjoy and that is ice fishing. The idea that you can lounge in a warm little hut on top of the ice while the fish come to you is simply amazing to me. There is nothing quite as gratifying as pulling a big old trout through that hole and on to the ice!

Place 3

THE CLIMB - Nam Xay Viewpoint written by @angielettenmeyer

One of the most popular things to do in Vang Vieng is without a doubt the famous hike up to Nam Xay Viewpoint. The entrance is about 8km away from the heart of the town. You can rent a motorbike for 50,000 Kip ( around 5€) to get there but since the hike itself was going to be quite exhausting we decided to pay 100,000 Kip for a tuk-tuk to take us there and back.
