Hey everyone, I recently turned 40 and in 40 odd years I have never eaten a Cherry directly from a tree, in-fact I cant ever remember eating a cherry in any form other than directly from a retailer and in the glazed form, that we enjoy over the Christmas season, have you? Today that all changed...

Cherry Trees do not do very well in a hot climate, where I stay in Pretoria South Africa Summers get very hot, rendering this tree useless. Which is why this was not in Pretoria. I recently took a trip with my landlord to Dullstroom in the Mpumalanga Province to go and deliver more Trees for one of his clients, when we arrived were met by this beauty and at first flabbergasted at what Tree this could possibly be....

At first glance a standard 'wild African bush berry' trees common all over the place, but on closer inspection not quiet as originally thought! My landlord and myself were puzzled, just then the client walked over, oo vat sien julle daar? (What are you folks looking at) we were not sure, he replied: Dis n kersie boom (that's a cherry tree).

We kindly requested to dig in, with joy he answered sure, and so we did! These were littered all over the floor rather sad to see, I am sure they would make amazing jams if one were just to harvest and process?

Not only incredibly delicious but prolific, I cannot believe how many Cherries this tree had just dripping off and good oh my where they good!

So, picked and gorged ourselves to the absolute hilt we did and it was good, really good!

I kept quiet a few pips to see if I can germinate and grow them in Pretoria, how amazing it would be to have this in our garden?

I trust you have a super cool midweek and Wednesday and with Bitcoin doing what it is, why not?

Cheer$;)
