Does anyone ever take time to clean up their HIVE account? I'm inching closer to the 4 year mark on HIVE so it's once again come time to clean up my following list and refocus a bit.

June 16th will be 4 years on HIVE and it's a trip to scroll through my "following" list and go right back to the beginning and see some of the first accounts that I followed and see who's active and who's not.

Removing Inactive Accounts

I was following around 400+ accounts, I think I just recently cracked the 400 mark, but as you can imagine many of those accounts are no longer active. This isn't the first time I've cleaned up the following list, I remember there was a tool for STEEM back in the day that would specifically show you how many "dead" accounts were following you and those that you follow.

A tool that could allow you to filter and sort your followers could be some help here.

Right now I'm just scrolling back manually through my follower list spotting accounts that haven't posted in ages or don't have any staked LEO and taking a peak to see what they're doing.

The Search For More Content Creators

You know I'm always pleasantly surprised when I find a new creator to follow that's pushing out decent content, they've already got a solid following and for whatever reason I've never come across their account before. 4 years later and I still come across these folks every once in a while.

A "network map" visually showing accounts, their relative size, and the connections between them all would be awesome!

I know there's more out there that I've yet to find, so I keep my eyes open. Part of the LeoFinance and HIVE experience that's most enjoyable for me is opening up my feed and seeing new content, and the stronger my network the more entertaining that is!

Thanks for the Engagament and Support on Posts

So yeah it's account clean up time and I wouldn't be surprised if my following list is reduced to under 300 but that only means there's more people out there to discover. That said I'm grateful for the support that I receive on my posts, this community is super generous, that's for sure.

It's never expected but always appreciated is the way I look at it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and I'll catch you on the flip side.

Ciao for now,

EDIT: There's no easy way to manage followers, and it's tedious to go back through the lists manually. I think until one of the front ends provides a tool for this the best strat is to either be very selective with following going forward or take some time on a regular basis and keep your list really focused to active creators.
