This morning my partner said she thinks there's a pro vax algorithm on Facebook that is pushing certain "news" stories into her feed. With a minute of google the connection is obvious!

My response was along the lines of "they're probably owned by the same money". A quick google search would show this to be correct.

Facebook Pushing Pro Vax Narrative

A quick google search will show that Vanguard Group owns a stake in Pfizer of around 8% and is also one of the largest institutional investors in Facebook with holdings in the area of 17%.

In fact Vanguard Group appears to be the largest holder with 17%, with Mark Zuckerberg himself coming in at around 16%.

I'll point out that Black Rock Inc also holds Facebook, and it accounts for it's 4th largest holding.

Facebook is the fourth-largest holding of this fund, at about 2.2% of invested assets. https://www.investopedia.com/

Does Black Rock also own Pfizer?

Is there anything Black Rock doesn't own is the question!

Fortunately this first question is an easy one to answer as these funds are required to publicly disclose their holders.

2021-01-29 - BlackRock Inc. has filed an SC 13G/A form with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosing ownership of 396,973,512 shares of Pfizer Inc. (US:PFE). This represents 7.1 percent ownership of the company. In their previous filing dated 2020-02-05, BlackRock Inc. had reported owning 426,228,360 shares, indicating a decrease of -6.86 percent. https://fintel.io

Black Rock Inc who owns a 2% stake in Facebook also owns a 17% stake in Pfizer, or 426M shares.
