Catching The Bee: Hive Power Up Day August 2022
My Bee History
When this thing called power-bees were introduced by @hivebuzz a couple of years back (OMG, it's been 2 years!), I was always very eager to catch 'em bees! I tried to participate every power up day and was pleased with myself I maintained quite a streak, not to mention the HPUD's prior to the bees. It's like collecting cards, stamps, NFT's or whatnot. It's kinda addicting! In addition, doing this monthly regimen also lets me reflect on my progress here on Hive and where I am in respect to my goals.
I actually maintained a one-year HPUD streak!

I totally missed the HPUDs during Q4 2021 and tried to restart the practice this year 2022. Again I missed HPUD last March, while I powered up my cold wallet account in May instead.
Account Growth
With only 5 months left into the year, I am still very far from my 10000 HP target. Ahhh, how elusive. Okay, I have to admit that I have not been too diligent in my blockchain activities so what do I expect?! My account grows only through publishing posts, which have been slacking very badly these past months.
There's my July 2022 account growth chart. You will see that I was late with my power up. I was not able to do it on the first of the month but did it on the 3rd instead.
Hive Power Up Day August 2022
If you've been here on Hive for some time then you know this thing that keeps the blockchain busy during the first of every month. If not, you can find full details here in @traciyor's post.
Today, August 1st, Hive was acting bullish and I sold off a few that I bought when HBD pumped the week prior. That said, I still would like to keep putting aside for HP to get me to that elusive 10k HP mark sometime soon.
The month started with 5,686.987 HP and I would like to bring it up to a round figure (I think I see the "growth" more when it starts with a round figure) so I powered up to 5750 HP.

August Power-Bee Secured
Just like that, I have my August 2022 Power-Bee secured and added to my HiveBuzz wall. Awesome!
There is also a Hive Power Up Month challenge by Hivebuzz which apparently is already 8 months running. I have not joined that, for I am not sure I will be able to keep up to it. Maybe in the future, when I am confident that I can publish posts daily again.
