XMR.to is closing, how to pay Bitcoin only services with Monero

It's a sad day, XMR.to has announced on Reddit that they have to close down their service.

This is particularly sad because it was very easy to pay Bitcoin only services directly from your Monero Featherwallet.

Anyways, here is the solution

It's called FixedFloat

You select "Fixed rate (1% fee)" and use this to pay Bitcoin on checkout.

  • You receive BTC adr from the service eg. Bitrefill
  • Enter BTC adr in FixedFloat
  • Enter BTC amount
  • Select "Fixed rate (1.0%)

And pay. That way the service will exchange the exact amount, and Bitrefill will be paid the exact amount.

The exchange works with VPN and Tor at the time of writing this post!

A little bit more work, but still rather convenient.
