Fair warning, there will be drawbacks, specifically from RC standpoints, like neal would say, people won't really be willing to pay to use a social network, we simply cannot compare the scenarios to twitter blue, because everyone can simply use the service without paying for a silly blue checkmark that only draws the trolls.

The network requirement, which is RC in the case of hive is both a blessing and a curse, we have to be real with ourselves. It's a blessing because it is one of the features that feeds consistent value into the blockchain, by simply promoting "Hive time locks" but then, outside the shell of it's blockchain economic model, it is a restriction for the social network. So we have to asks ourselves the question once a while:

How many people would be on Hive if there simply weren't any incentives?

Let me answer that for you, nobody!

Yes, the reason is that it would likely not have the ability to be a decentralized network, given the lack of incentive to build within such public interest. The vast majority of Hive users are here for what it's worth and that's simply the economic aspect of the network, of which, everyone can tap into via the native assets Hive and HBD, in a way. That said, RC being just another reason to hold Hive makes it a unique model for its economy, but not for its social economy, it's simply a setback and that in my opinion, is the only drawback I see for anything social network on Hive.

Building the thread economy - what I expect.

I wanted to start with the setbacks for obvious reasons, some people believe we promoters of hive-based projects don't acknowledge flaws, but that's the thing, Hive maxis are not bitcoin maxis, those are blind fools that in my opinion don't deserve the luxury of holding bitcoin, not that my opinion on that counts - I don't care anyways.

Moving on, I really hope the new LeoFinance UI hides earnings, please, it should be buried under some button that could only be visible when clicked, and maybe make it default that it doesn't show until a user activates it on his personal feed, that would be great.

For the past few days, I've been using threads, I can recall a few times, and I'll be honest, it's the first time since I've joined Hive that I did not care about my rewards. Yes, with all honesty, in as much as I try my possible best to pass a tangible message via each content I publish to my followers, all my contents are optimized to hit certain grounds. If you are a marketer, you will understand how targeted contents work. The value isn't lost in any way but each piece is designed to draw in buyers - i guess that's the ultimate trick to success in any network right?

Don't be fooled, everybody does it, I'm only one of the few that will tell you the truth.

Now, back to threads, as I was saying, I would be happy and I think many too would like it, I'll do a thread after publishing this to see people share similar opinions, rewards simply need to be scraped from the UI, and by scraped, I mean it shouldn't be visible at first sight. If we should have to look at Twitter, the navigation menu should have a section called "Monetization" just like Twitter, where the content of that page will explain every monetization ranging from post earnings to ad revenues as previously reported.

Being able to make Leo look more like a social network where people only have to ask later on the journey if it is possible to get monetized would be great, it is inevitable that some may have earned a ton beforehand. Speaking of earning, maybe, just maybe, like buttons that don't trigger "Hive votes" or Leo need to be added. I will personally enjoy that luxury.

With this, and all that the team is already putting together, I envision Threads or LeoFinance it is? Or we call it Project Blank? Come on @khaleelkazi, don't leave us hanging, new name or LeoFinance it is? I wouldn't really mind if we keep the Leo name, it is a killer choice at the end of the day, to be great for hive.

Why Threads Will Be Good For Hive?

Simple, it will or should make the Hive rewards pool totally irrelevant, causing abuse to be greatly limited and more focus placed on quality networking. Doing all this and yet benefiting from Hive's immutable database.

We should be able to talk about cats - not necessarily the animal, but maybe the other type of cats that makes the world go round :) without having to think "Oh am I getting paid". Fun first, monetize later.

Being able to build out a large userbase on this note will make it easy to scale, new users will probably have it much easier to understand the system.

Thank you and please leave a comment, your thoughts matter to me
