Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Snakes and Protected animals of USSR - Siberian Pit Viper (Gloydius halys) - USSR, Soviet Union 1977 - Michel USSR 4681 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

It is interesting that I remember 1977, because our journey passes through this year through a country that no longer exists in the USSR.

I was only 4 years old, and it is probably difficult to say about my memories in a particular year, but I remember that it was a year of grandiose construction projects in Moldova, after the devastating earthquake of 1976. This earthquake, I remember exactly.

Then, the city of Chisinau began to transform, high-rise buildings built by builders from different republics appeared.

Holding postage stamps in my hands, I go back to those days.

Today we will see another postage stamp from series Snakes and Protected animals of USSR, issued in the USSR this year, 1977, which received a denomination of 10 kopecks of the USSR.

This postage stamp depicts one of the most common representatives of the viper family - Siberian Pit Viper (Gloydius halys).

This is a bit of a strange series of postage stamps.

Usually, the USSR produced thematic series, snakes, birds, mammals and so on, but this series of postage stamps will have an unexpected twist.

Let's take a look at this postage stamp.
