Molly Hood! Guarding The New Silver :-)

She just loves her soft green Robin Hood hat .. feather and all. Often she can be seen prancing around the yard in it, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. So, if you have a large stack of silver, and are looking to move it from point A to point B, use a different path. She will spot you and make a quick determination on whether or not you qualify as rich. Some of your silver spoils may get redistributed to the less fortunate. hehe

ALL LIES.. But so much fun nevertheless. I cropped in the hat, because Molly would be freaked out by something like that if it were in fact real. No way, No how! Does look cute on her though.

The Silver! ..

I'm diving back into the new silver .. And randomly pulled out the new ROBIN HOOD 1oz FINE SILVER 999 2001. I just acquired this not long ago when I made a sizable silver purchase from JM Bullion. This was one of two Robin Hood rounds that I picked up. I think I like the design on the other better than this one, but this particular piece is not all that bad either.

2021 1 oz British Silver Robin Hood Coin (BU)

The coin comes in BU condition, except for the fact that it was delivered in a flip and it had fallen out of that flip due to poor packaging. I don't see a whole lot wrong with it, so I decided not to make a stink out of it. The coin is the 1st release of the Myths and Legends Series. I wanted to get my hands on at least one of these, but now thinking back, I should have picked up a few more. I may do that anyhow.. I bet act soon though.

The photo behind the coin, in the following photos - source - pixabay

On The Obverse .. Queen Elizabeth II As beautiful as always at age 89, and we can also see it is marked with a face value of 2 Pound Sterling (GBP), backed by the government of Britain.

And A Close Up

On The Reverse - Robin Hood! He is standing on a sturdy Oak branch (maybe) with his long bow drawn back. He is waiting on the unexpecting rich carrying their gold in toe. I think the design by Jody Clark, is really quite good. I was drawn to this design because of the way the bow wraps up into the word "SILVER". When designs overlay words or vise versa, I tend to like them. What do you think?

A Close Up

The Edge - Reeded (Of Course!) There is not a whole lot to say about the edge of these coins other than they look good, are nice and crisp, and wide enough to allow me to stand them on edge. Other than that, I got nothin.

Back To Molly Hood ..

Looks like she is off once again, looking for trouble. Or maybe she is running from trouble. I don't know yet. Either way, I must chase after her and make sure she is okay. I wouldn't want her to carry all of that silver and gold by herself!

One never knows where Molly Hood may be lurking, so keep your eyes pealed if you ever go strolling through the woods!

“IN MERRY ENGLAND in the time of old, when good King Henry the Second ruled the land, there lived within the green glades of Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham Town, a famous outlaw whose name was Robin Hood.” ― Howard Pyle, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood of Great Renown in Nottinghamshire

Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!
