Indeed cryptocurrencies and blockchains offering decentralization are having practical applications settling governance. Hopefully this will be a bridge we'll all be able to cross and put more results in the elections from some corrupt countries or simply bring more trust in this process. Beside this they model the way companies themselves are governed so they have a wider applicability than somebody can imagine.
