SPS stakers receive GLX tokens
If you have SPS tokens staked, then you most likely received GLX tokens. To check your airdrop, visit the Genesis League Goals page, signup, link your Hive account and you should see some GLX tokens waiting for you.
Signing up is very easy, all you need to do is;
- Register with a functioning email
- Create your own unique password
- Verify your account with the link sent to your email
- Link your Hive wallet address with Keychain
Once you complete the above process, your Hive account will be linked to your GLG profile and you will see your GLX tokens at the top right of your screen. A pop-up that enables you to send your GLX token to other players or to Hive-engine pops up when you click on your GLX token.
GLX has potential
GLX tokens are stipulated to play a huge role in the Genesis League Sports ecosystem. As mentioned in the whitepaper, the plan is to create a suite of sports-themed blockchain games on Hive.
There's still a lot to come in the development of the GLS ecosystem but one thing we know for sure is that GLX is going to be a huge part of it. I reckon it could even turn out to be the governance token of the ecosystem but that's a story for another day.
I originally planned to sit out this particular game because I'm not exactly enthused by the idea of playing card trading football games. I don't see how I'll spend time playing this when I have an actual football game that I play for fun and spend zero Naira to play.
So, I didn't buy GLG packs but that doesn't mean I won't be participating. The gambler in me hates the idea of a new token coming to Hive and missing out on it, so I placed a small GLX buy order on Hive-engine.
The way I see it, I might as well take a punt rather than sit and watch it go past me. I might not be playing GLG but holding GLX token at least puts me in a position to participate in the GLS ecosystem.
There's also the obvious fact that with a bit of marketing in conjunction with the MLSPA, for example, we could see GLX token aggressively spike in the process. In the event of that occurrence, I'd like to be holding a small stack of the token for flipping purposes.
Stake more SPS
Yesterday, I talked about why you need to stake more SPS in Splinterlands and this is a timely reminder.
Staking SPS gives you access to a variety of benefits and exclusives because of the importance of the token. There are definitely going to be more airdrops, access to tournaments and the normal staking reward that makes Staking SPS very rewarding.
