Hive Is Paving The Way To A Brighter Future

Hive never seems to get the publicity it deserves as one of the few if only blockchain that gets a lot right when it comes to rewarding content creators. Hive for the longest time was simply a blog platform or what could be considered a article site which does drive a fair amount of traffic and is still the core of every major brand.

The Gaming Space

Since it's release hive has started to expand into gaming first with the introduction of powerful games such as Splinterlands this area has grown a bit and much faster than it has in the past as more applications look to launch their games on the hive blockchain.

I still think [Splinterlands[(https://splinterlands.com?ref=bitcoinflood) is going to be a huge hit at the end of this year and a huge money marker once land get implemented and a bunch of new tokens. I would suspect that Splinterlands would have a internal market for all of these tokens and collect a small fee for the swaps which personally I feel a portion of that should be returned into the games assets values in particular SPS would be the best bet.

We also are seeing a lot of other applications being built around the gaming space which as also supporting the hive blockchain and has brought in a number of players and people being introduced to hive.

Social

The social aspect of hive was weak, like real weak and a good portion of people felt that only long form content was worthy of their vote. However with the introduction of video on hive with 3Speak.TV we saw a increase in new style of content which was also long form in terms of videos. While I believe the UI is being worked on and short form videos are gaining some traction which I hope is implemented sooner rather then later in a smart way.

We also had platforms like SoMee Social which has good intentions and is decently built it lacks because as far as my last test it posts everything right on my hive block which just clutters it with a bunch of smaller end posts thus the adoption at least for me has been slow if at all on this platform.

We also saw a Instagram style platform release called LikeTu While it is simply just another front end / blog style hive posting platform it does well in terms of providing a UI that is at least similar to that of Instagram.

Now today we have a Alpha version of twitter called LeoThreads of which I hope others start to build. With a thread what makes it a huge win is every post I make on there does NOT turn into a new "blog" post on hive and thus wont clutter up the blogging and article writing I do such as this. This is one of the most critical advancements of building new UIs and front ends for hive. The ability to use the blockchain but not have everything be logged as a blog post.

DeFi / DEX

The defi space for hive is a little on the slow side but it is there. It comes in the shape of CUBDeFi on the Binance smart chain, PolyCub on the Polygon Matic blockchain and directly on hive itself through platforms like Diesel Pools and BeeSwap

NFTs

What's really crazy is that Hive actully has a rather robust NFT collection not only of artwork from places like NFTShowRoom but also the countless games that are launched and have launched. There is a great lack in terms of marketplaces that support all of these and is something I'd love to see soon!

Overall in just the few years that hive has been around we have seen a great deal of development work and I personally feel it's only the start of what could be. In fact I'm currently in the works myself to hopefully soon get a small team of devs together and build some applications on hive to overall support the ecosystem. That's a big goal for me in 2023!
