French Ligue 1 team, Paris Saint-Germain, announced a new sponsorship deal with Crypto.com.

Paris Saint-Germain has had a very busy summer, signing deals with crypto companies and players alike. On Thursday, the legendary French franchise announced another deal that would further entrench them into the digital asset culture.

The team announced a new multi-year sponsorship deal had been signed with Crypto.com. The deal sees Crypto.com become the Official Cryptocurrency Platform Partner for the team. The exact details are not yet known, but we do know that the partnership includes the release of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of Crypto.com’s NFT platform. Additionally, the press release states that the majority of the sponsorship deal will be paid out to Paris Saint-Germain in CRO tokens.

Speaking on behalf of Crypto.com, CEO Kris Marszalek said “Between the brand visibility, stadium and team access, and collaborative development of NFTs, I have no doubt we’ll create new and exciting experiences for football fans around the world.”

Crypto.com continues investing in sports

Crypto.com has been snatching up big sports sponsorships left and right. Not only have they become the official crypto sponsors of PSG, but also have inked deals with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Formula 1 racing, Italy’s Lega Serie A, and the IIHF Hockey World Championship. The company became the first to partner with an F1 team and the first to pair up with an NHL franchise, the Montreal Canadians.

In a statement, Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer for Paris Saint-Germain, said: “We are delighted to welcome Crypto.com to the Paris Saint-Germain partner family. We share the same passion for innovation and the same ambition to reach the very top. With this partnership, Paris Saint-Germain demonstrates once more its vision and leadership as a pioneer in areas such as lifestyle, esports, and digital. It is an exciting time for Cryptocurrency and we cannot wait to work with Crypto.com to bring new experiences to all of the club’s fans.”

PSG has also been making big moves to their on-field team as well. Recently signing megastar Lionel Messi to support stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. The team kicks off their UEFA Champions League season at Club Brugge on September 15.
