Do I have to get spikes, wear all black, paint my nails, and hate the system? Or can I simply enjoy owning this beautiful Hive Punk?

Soon after @themarkymark's presentation at Hive Fest I headed to https://punks.usehive.com to mint some of these Hive Punks he was blabbering about. More than anything I was completely fascinated by his talk about the magical tech that goes on in the background.

Full disclosure, most of it sounded like a foreign language to me. But it was really cool to have our own punks on the Hive blockchain. The Punks originally go for 25 HIVE but just for Hive Fest the price was lowered to just 20. A bargain if you ask me.

Now I have already seen a lot of faces from LEO on the post's comments which means you might have minted some of yours already. If you haven't then go ahead and mint yours. As of making this post, almost 3000+ have been minted from what I assume to be a total of 10000.

Don't be so disheartened if you come across an unresponsive page at first. Apparently, after marky's not so boring speech there has been a huge surplus of visitors. But the site is up and running according to one of the latest comments.

You'll need Hive KeyChain to execute minting. Once the page has loaded, insert YOUR username and login with KeyChain. Then you select the number of Punks you want to mint. As of now the max is 10, but Marky did mention he is going to up that number.

Once you have established the number of Punks you want to mint, confirm and double-check it on KeyChain and let it rip! That is pretty much it!

Now, one thing I have learned from this experience is that you'll need patience. There's been a lot of minting and it's backing things up. If you have minted correctly, then you'll not have to worry about anything.

The Punks will take time to appear in your Gallery. Evidently, there's some lag at the Punks showing up. As @blockheadgames says: "It is being worked on, all the NFTs are minted and have their IPFS assets, the problem is the migration to faster storage and metadata so it will work on the website."

Cool. More foreign language.

While I was waiting for my Punks to show up I headed into blockheadgames account and stumbled upon https://apemining.club/. It is not a real mining establishment, it's just a game.

I sold some DEC to buy STEM and get in on the action. Trust me, I have no clue as to what is happening. I am just happy-go-lucky with the buttons. I threw in some STEM and stole the ASIC.

It was just expensive enough to be covered by my daily earning from renting Splinterlands cards for DEC. So why not, right? I know what you're thinking. Yeah, go ahead, steal it from me.

While I was at it, I threw whatever STEM I had remaining in my wallet on boosting the ASIC. Evidently, it didn't work. Oh well!

Remember, it's just a game. So treat it like one.

Anyways, really cool stuff done here by Marky. I see a lot of people grabbing as much as they can. So far I don't really have any super rare Punks.

The one in this post and my display picture is called Christopher Battle who is a Robotics Engineer. Rarity is at 118 now. I liked it the most coz it goes with my glasses thing.
