I've got a lot of stuff I am going to try and cram into my post today. It is probably going to be a bit all over the place, but you really shouldn't expect anything less from me should you?

Yesterday, the @lbi-gov account announced the winners of the first LBI Governance team election. If you remember I was on the fence about throwing my hat in the ring, but I eventually did. Call it a Valentine's miracle, but I was one of the three that was elected to the Gov Team.

I want to think those who voted for me. I appreciate your confidence in me. I also would like to thank each of the holders who voted. Thank you for doing your part. Personally, I feel like the vote numbers were really low at only about 10% of total holders. I think we need to work on that.

I look forward to what the coming three months will bring for the team. Since this is so new, it is going to be a learning experience for all of us. We are all treading fresh ground here (well unless you were involved in SPInvest I guess), and I am excited to see how things start to take shape.

I was sitting in the car yesterday waiting for my wife to finish up work. We work just across the parking lot from each other and since it has been so cold (sub zero F) the past couple of days, I drive up to the other building so she doesn't have to walk as far.

Anyway, I was scrolling through my Google news feed and this story from CNet popped up. I am generally a pretty big fan of CNet. They have a lot of honest reliable reviews on their site and they have also been doing tech news longer than a lot of other outlets have even existed. I guess what I am basically saying is I generally find the pretty reputable.

So I was reading through that story and I had to stop short when I came to this line:

But despite the community's enthusiasm, there's a small problem. Right now cryptocurrencies don't really do anything.

Call me crazy, but I took offense to the level of ignorance displayed in those two sentences. Sure, it may be true that 90% of the tokens in existence today are pure fluff. A fancy web page with a hastily thrown together whitepaper (if they even have that), and a token that somehow has value.

So here is a small "call to arms" if you will. I encourage the Hive/Leo faithful to check out his Twitter and help explain to him just how wrong he is when he says cryptos don't really do anything.

Finally, it is time for that epic burn that I mentioned in the title. I woke up this morning around 4 AM as usual and I was once again scrolling through my Google news feed. We all know that good old Elon has been making a ton of headlines lately, but this is quite possibly one of the most awesome I have seen in a while.

Your app sucks

The article was talking about how hosted wallets are a huge security issue and should be avoided at all costs. I almost feel a little bad for Freewallet, almost...

That's like rule #1 of Crypto Club right?

  • Not your keys, not your crypto.

So there you have it, a three word burn that will probably be the funniest thing I read all day. I hope it gives you a little chuckle as well (unless you use Freewallet I guess).
