Your work ethic is everything. Show it off.

“If people don’t know you for your work ethic, you ain’t working.” – Grant Cardone

On Hive, this quote cannot be truer. As I keep repeating, if you don’t show up every day, if you don’t post every day, if you don’t engage every day people are not seeing you. Not only that, they also do see you are serious about Hive. It may be blunt but if you are not working it, you ain’t!

If you haven’t noticed about me yet is that I have an obsession with Hive. It is in my every thought when I am awake. I don’t stop thinking about what I am going to do next, what my next post is going to be and reading other people’s posts. To give you an example of my obsession from this morning, and also to obliviate that excuse of ‘no time’ here is what happened. It is short, it is simple, but it makes the point.

I was almost at work this morning, stopped at the last red light. The hand came up showing 25 seconds for someone to cross the road. 25 seconds of wasted time waiting. I quickly picked up my phone and checked Ecency for and updates on upvotes, comments, etc. Five seconds before the light was about to change I put my phone down and continued to work. That my friends is work ethic and obsession and both are needed to be successful here on Hive.

The Merriam-Webster definition of obsession is this: “A persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling.” That is a very negative outlook and as most of you know the world in general is very negative. Just turn on the nightly news, 95 percent of it is negative news.

Grant Cardone has his on definition for what obsession is and yes, I am going to share it with you as it is 100 percent positive and me, Mr. Positive, you know my goal is to spread positivity both for myself personally and for you.

“Those dreams and goals that you desire to achieve so intensely that they give you the urge, momentum, and energy necessary to build the life you desire and dream of.”

Now, don’t you think that is much better, totally positive. You all read my goals that I put at the end of almost all my posts. The renewed long form, putting in the effort, with this series of 10X posts is an example of this.

How many times do I read here on Hive that people want to get to whale status. They want to be able to live from being on Hive. If you truly want to do that then you better get your ass in gear and get obsessed with Hive.

I know in parts of the world where the economy is so different than North America, where people are making two or three-hundred dollars a month it is easier for Hive to make a difference in their lives fairly quickly. It is not so easy in countries where your income can be two or four thousand a month. Your obsession must be even larger if you are going to achieve your goal.

As some of you know, when you get to the point that you become obsessed with Hive and people start seeing your work ethic be prepared for the incoming negativity. You will start receiving criticism and you might have people that are outright hostile to you. Whether that be with a down vote or a nasty comment on your post. When this starts to happen, you know you are on the correct path.

Don’t get stuck in the trap with your obsession that your goals are too small. That is one major mistake that most people make. They do everything awesome but are still not getting results. Then you wonder why, get mad, get fed up, quit and slowly disappear. Make sure your goals and dreams are 10X of what you really aim for. This way you should be able to at least meet and more than likely exceed your goals.

Lastly today I want to share with you Grant’s four levels of action. I want you to think long and hard what one you fall into and then how you can get to the fourth level.

Level One: No longer taking actions to move yourself forward in order to learn, achieve, or control some area of your life. The result here is absolute failure.

Level Two: Taking action in reverse, likely in order to avoid pain or other negative outcomes. Again, the result is failure.

Level Three: Taking normal, or average, levels of action. The result is average. And no one wants average.

Level Four: Taking massive, 10X Action. I bet you guessed the results. EXTRAORDINARY.

And who does not want that?

Get obsessed.
