No Christmas?

Hi Friends,

I have been seeing more articles come in my finance feeds talking about the covid-cancelled Christmas. The argument is that there are no presents under the tree and no celebrating due to: shopping places are essentially closed in some areas, people are unemployed and cannot buy presents this year, the risk of people gathering and catching covid is too great so there will be far fewer gatherings.

Despite what they are saying, that is not what I am seeing happening in real life. Everyone I know is continuing with Christmas like usual or in smaller groups, though they are just having more gatherings in some instances. Spending is also up from what I can see. People started shopping earlier due to shipping delay concerns.

So, my reality is everything will be similar to prior years or up when it comes holiday spending and the forecasted targets, so my investment portfolio is setup for no downside surprises.

Are you seeing “no Christmas” this year or is your experience similar to mine?

Thanks for coming by, Brian
