HI Friends,

I have a cool shortcuts button on my phone that gives me helpful suggestions to make using my phone faster, easier and more productive.

It got me thinking about a friend I was chatting with recently who was trying to find shortcuts to building wealth for retirement. While there may be some special situations you can try to help get you there faster - having a risky investment hit it big or winning the lottery - the reality is that building wealth takes time and commitment with few shortcuts available.

Since investments compound, the sooner you get on track to build wealth the better your chances of your money earning more money on top of earned money. Financial fundamentals are important - having a plan/budget, investing consistently, being diligent, making adjustments, etc - in helping you get there.

There are no shortcuts to experience either - you need to get started and start learning.
