How Crypto and Blockchain Technology has Impacted my Personal Finance

My knowledge about cryptomonies started in 2016 when I started using different PTC's to generate some extra income. Some of these PTCs credited satoshis, although sooner rather than later they ended up being scams. As it turns out, I lasted a long time in them and they never credited me for all the effort I put into them. By that time, the price of the BTC was around $300-600. It really wasn't much I was earning in those pages and after a few months of seeing the failed results I abandoned them. Besides, I didn't have the slightest idea that the BTC could go that high.

Mi conocimiento sobre las criptomonedas comenzó en el año 2016 cuando comencé a usar distintas PTC's para generar unos ingresos extras. Algunas de esas PTC's acreditaban satoshis, aunque mas temprano que tarde terminaban siendo estafas. Resulta que duraba mucho tiempo en ellas y nunca me acreditaron todo el esfuerzo que puse en ellas. Para ese entonces el precio del BTC rondaba los 300-600$. Realmente no era mucho lo que estaba ganando en esas paginas y al cabo de unos meses de ver los resultados fallidos las abandoné. Además que no tenía la mas minima idea de que el BTC podría llegar a subir tanto.

I started to dedicate myself only to real work, not to the Internet. Then at the end of 2017 I started my blog in Steem and to know more about the world of the crypts, the blockchain, Exchanges. In fact I remember that just that same year they made a conference about Blockchain in my university, they explained things of which I had previous knowledge thanks to my time in Steem.

Me empecé a dedicar unicamente a trabajos presenciales, reales y no de internet. Luego a finales del año 2017 empecé mi blog en Steem y a conocer mas sobre el mundo de las criptos, la blockchain, Exchanges. De hecho recuerdo que justo ese mismo año hicieron una conferencia sobre Blockchain en mi universidad, explicaron cosas de las cuales yo tenía conocimiento previo gracias a mi tiempo en Steem.

The way crypts and blockchain have impacted my life is overwhelmingly positive. I arrived here with low expectations, no notion, but in few time the enthusiasm grew and the learning expanded. There are many benefits that we find here, especially for people who find it difficult to work in the field, or who find it difficult to get some kind of honest, well-paying job.

La manera en que las criptos y la blockchain han impactado en mi vida es rotundamente de manera positiva. Llegué acá con bajas expectativas, sin noción, pero poco a poco el entusiasmo fue creciendo y el aprendizaje su expandió. Hay muchos beneficios que encontramos acá, especialmente las personas que les cuesta trabajar en campo externo, o que les cuesta conseguir algun tipo de empleo honesto y bien remunerado.

I remember the Steem boom at the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018, although like every novice I did not take the necessary steps to multiply what I had accumulated, but it still helped me a lot at that time. I remember that I bought a new phone, a new guitar, a TV, new clothes, I gave some things to my little brothers and my dad, I paid together with my brother for the kidney stone treatment that my mom had, it was the biggest contribution to my household expenses, I could cover different personal expenses, I converted a considerable amount into fiat money to save. It was the first time in my life that I had so much money. I think it was about $1500 in total that I received in earnings during all those months. It didn't make me rich, but being my first time with that amount, that age, in a country where the minimum wage is $4 made me change my perception and see that I could get much more than I thought. Seeing all that I realized the importance of investing your money even if it is in a project that generates a minimum as it is, that the fear of losing everything is exactly what can lead you to lose everything because it inhibits you from risking sometimes that it is necessary to take risks.

Recuerdo el boom del Steem a finales del 2017 e inicios del 2018, aunque como todo novato no tomé las medidas necesarias para multiplicar lo que llevaba acumulado, pero de igual manera me ayudó bastante en ese entonces. Recuerdo que compré telefono nuevo, guitarra nueva, un tv, ropa nueva, le regalé algunas cosas a mis hermanitos y mi papá, pagué junto con mi hermano el tratamiento del calculo en riñón que tenía mi mamá, era el mayor aporte de los gastos en mi hogar, podía cubrir distintos gastos personales, convertí una cantidad considerable en dinero fiat para ahorrar. Era la primera vez en toda mi vida que tenía tanto dinero. Creo que fueron como 1500$ en total que percibí en ganancias durante todos esos meses. No me hizo rico, pero al ser mi primera vez con esa cantidad, esa edad, en un país donde el salario minimo es de 4$ me hizo cambiar mi percepción y ver que podía conseguir mucho mas de lo que pensaba. En vista de todo eso me di cuenta de la importancia de invertir tu dinero aunque sea en un proyecto que te genere un minimo como sea, que el miedo a perderlo todo es lo que exactamente puede llevarte a perder todo ya que te cohibe de arriesgarte en ocasiones que es necesario arriesgarse.

Currently in this quarantine it is of great help and great positive impact to obtain this income in crypto. Although I emphasize that this is not for everyone. There are many who like to dedicate themselves to other things without caring if they get less, others who like it, but let's say part-time. As there are others who are enthusiastic and passionate about the world of crypto and blockchain. I have recommended them to different friends and talked about this world, some have made life and continue to do so, they dedicate themselves. Others are interested at first, but then don't start.

Actualmente en esta cuarentena es de gran ayuda y gran impacto positivo obtener estos ingresos en cripto. Aunque resalto que esto no es para todos. Hay muchos que les gusta dedicarse a otras cosas sin importar si obtienen menos, otros que si les gusta, pero digamos a medio tiempo. Como hay otros que son estusiastas y les apasiona el mundo de las cripto y la blockchain. Le he recomendado a distintos amigos y hablado sobre este mundo, algunos han hecho vida y la siguen haciendo, se dedican. A otros les interesa al principio, pero luego no inician.

I've been posting on Hive, getting weekly rewards that I couldn't get from an average job here in my country. In addition, with those earnings I have been able to buy a new guitar. And with faith in the rise and position of Hive and Leo at least 1$. Don't think it's impossible. At that time in our first Meet Up one of the organizers said that the steem would reach 6$ and to our surprise it reached 8$.

He estado posteando en Hive, obteniendo recompensas semanales que no podría obtener en un empleo promedio acá en mi país. Además con dichas ganancias he podido comprarme una nueva guitarra. Y con fe en el alza y se posicione Hive y Leo por lo menos en 1$. No lo creas imposible. En aquel entonces en nuestro primer Meet Up una de las organizadoras dijo que el steem llegaría a 6$ y para nuestra sorpresa llegó a 8$.

Leo team has been doing a good job. In fact I have recommended him to friends of Hive who are dedicated to the economy, being accountants, administrators and economists to join and post on Leofinance.

El equipo de Leo ha estado haciendo un buen trabajo. De hecho le he recomendado a amistades de Hive que se dedican a la economía, siendo contadores, administradores y economistas a que se unan y publiquen en Leofinance.
