Season 2020-2021 Final Betting Results

This 2020-2021 Belgian Jupiler Season ended last week making it the 4th full season I have covered on my blog. This is a full Results & Performance Overview to fully close things down.

I'm pretty much starting each season from zero having around 40 weeks with plenty of matches with an objective to have beaten the Asian Sports Betting market at the end. I Despite never having had a losing season in the last 15+ years, I don't take this for granted whatsoever and always kind of start assuming the market got sharper to the point where I might no longer beat it. If there is anything you learn when betting for a longer time, it's that you have to show a lot of respect to how the lines are being set. That's one of the reasons why I turned more into a volume bettor as there are without a doubt still plenty of betting spots with small edges around.

This season, in particular, was quite strange as it was the first time that is was played without fans and plenty of times where teams were handicapped due to covid cases. That was one of the reasons I was rather cautious on my stakes overall with the fact that I was unwilling to drop ~20 units having to convert some of my Crypto holdings back into Fiat during what clearly has been a bull run.

Overall this was an excellent season with very little variance and a steady uptrend following the pink expected profit line closely to end really well during the playoffs at a peak of +17.112 Units good for +4.37% ROI which I instantly would have signed for. Looking at individual statistics, they are also gree across the board.

Results on Pre-Game, Live & Corner bets are also all in the green. Live bets have done the least best because I sometimes willingly take bets with an expected loss as a way to cover bets and reduce variance which brings about fewer emotional swings helping the overall performance so it evens itself out in a way making life a lot more comfortable. Corner betting also remains a big part of my betting activity which will get harder as my stakes continue to grow becuase those limits are quite small most times.

Looking at the stakes, it also shows that all of them are profitable and it's no surprise that the bets where I'm unable to bet as much as I want (Limited Stake) perform the best. The rare full stake bets also performed really well and the tiny bets actually did better compared to the small & medium stakes. This is possibly due to the fact that I tend to ladder in on bets getting the juiciest bets while already having a position that limits me from going bigger on them. It is certainly something I will keep in mind for next season with a combination of betting less on the initial bet and more later on to hopefully get more out of it.

Higher odds traditionally have shown better results but this season I never really put my focus on them and many of them were tiny cover bets. Doing the calculation on all 2.4+ odds I come at 236 Bets with a -3.2% ROI. Getting higher odds on average is something that is constantly on my watchlist and I will continue working on that next season.

So That was it a good season and I'm already looking forward to having a go at it again about 1.5 months from now.

4-year Betting results Chart locking in 5277 bets with an overall result of +3.75% ROI which is just above what I really can expect to win.

I won't fix what isn't broken, so expect a very similar style of me covering the Belgian League which I'm handicapping and betting next season.
