Splinterlands | Buying Some More Legendary Lensmaster Cards!

I bought a bunch of Legendary Lensmaster cards way back in November of 2021 paying 57$ a copy with an eye on renting them out [Link]. Today I bought 3 more at a price of 13.4$ each to actually get 1 copy at Level 3 with enough left to rent out.

I like both the card and the very limited supply having used it regularly even at just level 1 while at level 3 it's so much more powerful. There are only 1209 copies of this card which makes the supply really scarce while both the use case and the demand is there on the rental market. While right now, it is still a time where assets are down, the Lensmaster is only down roughly -74% while cards as the Mushroom Seer which I sold some at 40$ is down roughly 92%.

I did pay ~40$ Today for a Level 2 Lensmaster combining it with the Level 1 I have been using and with 2 of the 7 single copies that I was using.

Price Potential Since it is so rare, I can see a point if there is another adoption cycle when the price for a single copy reaches back way above 100$. This said, older cards haven't exactly been the best 'store of value' since the modern format since most new players are playing in modern reducing the use-case and this card by the end of the year will be dropping out of the modern league as it will only be allowed in Wild. I do think that the limited supply aspect will kick in again at some point.

This said, for all I know the printer will continue to be on like crazy diluting the card prices, especially if a very similar card gets printed. I will in the meantime enjoy actually playing with this card now also getting the blind ability while keeping my single copies rented out. I also just continue to accumulate at the current price levels with land coming out soon which is anticipated an event that will cause a massive card supply shock.
