Sports Betting Blockchain Projects | April 2022 Report
I try to stay up to date with all the latest news and developments from Blockchain Projects that offer Sports Betting making a report each month with my personal experience and insights on how this space is evolving.
Market Overview
Crypto remains in somewhat of a bear cycle which mostly affects the prices of Altcoins and many of the Sports Betting-related projects haven't escaped this last month. Not all too much happened last month and I continue to be focused mostly on the projects I'm actually invested in. These are some of the things that caught my eye.
There was an AMA hosted on the Wagerr Discord which is something they do each quarter and it gives some confidence that they are still working on the development moving things forward. Different things came out of it. Most importantly I would say is that they acknowledge the issue that WGR is being minted as the current system is too slow to keep sharp Sports Bettors from Getting an edge and winning WGR. The work that has been done to make things faster should help prevent this going forward making WGR potentially deflationary.
The overall numbers are still looking quite good as the overall inflation still isn't that much on a yearly basis while the overall betting volumes continue to go up which if continues should create upside pressure of the WGR Price.
There was 1 Whale bet which WGR got absolutely crushed on where WGR offered 4.95 odds compared to 4.50 which was available on other bookmakers. One of the potential major issues for the platform is them having no tools to avoid getting crushed by fixed matches (I'm not saying this was fixed but it is bound to happen that high odds like this get pounded with a a fixed outcome)
The on-chain data can be found here (Link) which saw 5.6 Million WGR being minted on 1 single event.
They are also looking to implement BNB in one way or another, work along with bookmakers that use their blockchain and they are working on some kind of NFT game that will be called Footballr for which the artwork is being done.

Overall I remain with the same view that Wagerr won't revolutionize the entire Sports Betting market but there is sure is some mid-term potential for the price to pump as they are slowly but surely are getting more adopted.
It looks like there was a token release for Dexsport now followed by a gradual selloff. I yet have to take a closer look at some of these newer projects but the initial quick look I had at them didn't really get me all too warm.
