The Same Boat

First of all Merry Xmas to everyone and I hope you are having a great time wherever you might be spending time with your family as that is what is truly important.

I read a tweet last night from Leo Finance where they stated that some witnesses have stated that Leo is bad for Hive which I found a little concerning. I think we can guess who they might be and believe it is just petty jealousies surfacing and nothing else.

I don't think it is just jealousy though as it could be a sense of feeling threatened by what is currently happening. When someone becomes less relevant and important they will push back as the hold they once had over a community is slowly disappearing. This is not jealousy, but more a fear of losing power and a hold over something they once had and nothing else which is petty as they should be grateful for any new additions.

Leo and it's team over the last 6 months has stepped up to the plate and delivered and they keep delivering things the community needs. If something was working well then they wouldn't have needed to step in and supply an alternative, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

source If everyone is brutally honest with themselves having things that are not working how they should is holding everyone back. Every community/tribe which is Hive and not something separate has suffered over the last few months from having certain sites not working and offering limited services.

The majority of the community are excited about the lightning DB project and can't wait to see what the team has done as it will offer a new experience. This addition or additions of various services will bolster Leo, but more importantly bolster Hive making the site more relevant than before.

Tribes when they were first introduced were expected to be the difference by having different offerings and attracting new users to their particular niche. We have seen in the past attracting new users was difficult and retaining them was even harder and this will not be the case now. Communities need to step up and show us what they have as everyone needs to be doing their bit.

Looking back at what Leo has provided over the last 6 months with sites like Leo Dex and Hive Stats plus the Leo Finance front end we are spoiled. If I compare Hive Engine or Leo Dex there is only one winner with Leo Dex winning hands down. You only know this once you start using it as it works how it should. Hive Engine I used to have to log in and out just to load Hive for depositing and Leo Dex it is just there showing immediately without going in and out each time.

I do believe we were used to working with problems in the past and just settling for things that weren't 100 percent right. What we tend to forget that these sites like Hive Engine are businesses charging for their services and we had no choice as that was it and that is not the case now. With the new Lightning DB coming soon it should be as clear as night and day which one is better. Competition is good and benefits everyone as it raises the offerings as services do improve.

2021 looks brighter and better for Hive and the tribes as new development will only make the blockchain stronger.
