How do we bring more cryptocurrency investors to Hive?

One solution is to make Hive the place to find resources and the latest news about everyone's favorite crypto projects.

The current situation

Currently, crypto traders and investors go to Telegram, Reddit, Discord and Twitter for updates on specific cryptocurrency happenings. In contrast, the amount and level of knowledge of other altcoins found in Hive pale by comparison. So Hive platform is hardly under most crypto enthusiasts' radar.

Leofinance is the place to go for all things crypto trading and investment in Hive at the moment. One look at the landing page of the site suggests that most users are discussing generic crypto trading topics and all things related to Hive and its ecosystem (just like this post!). It is a place where Hive enthusiasts or maximalists gather and share ideas. Discussion of other altcoins is rather rare in this space, at the moment.

Popping over to the search function in PeakD (since I cannot locate one in Leofinance) here, I can find posts with the specific altcoin hashtag. Luna in this case.

Well, this serves as a way for altcoin enthusiasts to find news and banter about their favorite altcoins on the Hive platform. However, one can see that the search result is not optimized.

These experiences point to Hive as a less-than-desired platform for finding news and information for specific altcoins discussions.

The solution

I argue that making Hive a place where other altcoins lovers build communities to discuss their specific altcoins is actually great for Hive. This is a way these new users can be introduced to Hive, and be attracted to making more Hive posting and curating within it.

This will be a booster for massed adoption of Hive.

A vision where Hive can one day be the place to go for researching altcoin, in place of Telegram, Discord, Reddit, and Twitter.

Ideally, each altcoin of interest should have its own community. But looking at the state of existing Bitcoin communities, they are pretty low in utilization. This bitcoin community has less than 300 subscribers at the moment.

In contrast, LeoFinance has a clickable tab that features Bitcoin and Ethereum at the top of their site to lead to trending posts for Bitcoin and Ethereum.

My suggestion for the friends at LeoFinance is to make available more altcoins for LeoFinance and Hive users to easily find trending content directly related to specific altcoins.

I can imagine if Hive users, who are likely following other altcoins closely, can create more posts directly related to their altcoins (and make them easily searched under a tab in LeoFinance) and share the links on Telegram, Discord, Reddit, and Twitter, it can drive more traffic to LeoFinance and Hive.

Conclusion

I get the sense that some Hivers may not like the idea of featuring other altcoins within Hive, for fear of competition, perhaps. At the moment, I feel that posts that discuss altcoins aren't upvoted as much, and so discussion of other altcoins in Hive is naturally limited. Few would actively write to share about altcoins.

Hopefully, this situation/perception would change as a vision of enticing other altcoins communities to Hive is what would make Hive the defacto decentralised social media that serves crypto discussions in this space.

LeoFinance could be the centre of this universe.

P/S: I love to hear comments from all lovers of Hive regarding this. Let's see if this idea can gain traction! I appreciate it.
