Spider Tank Project joins the Gala Games Ecosystem

Gala Games, the company behind Town Star, makes an addition to their ever-growing stable of upcoming games with a new MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) called Spider Tank Project (whose name will possibly changed in the near future). Spider Tank pits teams of crawling, shooting tanks against each other, fighting for glory in a multiplayer arena.

The alpha version of the game can be played now. It's pretty simple at the moment, though there are quite a few customization options for the players' tanks, from a heavy chassis, to a sniper rifle, to a shield. The playable arena is small, only big enough for three players per side, but the action is constant and fast-paced. Below are the download link and install instructions.

  1. Download the game and unzip the file
  2. Open your unzipped files and select "SpiderTankProject.exe"
  3. A Winders Defender message will pop up (Please note that this is normal) click on "more info" and select "run anyway" 
  4. Once the app is open, select "Battle" to be matched up and let the games begin! To customize your controls, please go to "Setting-> Input" To set up your tank and equip items, please go to "Garage" (You may configure up to 3 tanks to swap between, in-game.)

This game can be played on a touchscreen, controller or mouse & keyboard!

Also, as a bonus for anyone with a Gala Gold membership, special Spider Tank skins will be airdropped to Gold members. You must have your membership in your Gala wallet by July 18th at Midnight Pacific Time. ( 7AM UTC on July 19th)! These memberships cost about $50 USD. They were available for as little as $10 not long ago. Unfortunately, my procrastination led me to miss that opportunity.

If you decide that you're really into the game or think that it will become a big hit and want to make an early investment in skins, there is already a set for sale. Prices range from $100 to the 1/1 unique Alpha Gold for 149K! Personally, the game is fun to play, and I look forward to seeing what more development brings, but I find their current price points to be a bit high for my taste. They could definitely benefit from offering a set of lower-tier offerings for the bulk of their players.

So if you were thinking of acquiring a Gala Gold membership, now might be a good time as you can start reaping benefits almost immediately.
