In a country with an atrocious dictatorship, we have been fortunate that the government is complacent and even sympathetic to cryptocurrencies. Unlike other countries, here the government has seen business in cryptocurrencies and has created mining farms and exchanges.
With all this, plus the fact that I pay for my groceries with cryptocurrency and that we have many places that accept them, especially in the capital; adoption is far from widespread.
The only thing that was generalized was the Petro a pseudo cryptocurrency of the government to use it as a handout to the population. To say that it pays good penalties, but it has practically no use; nobody wants to buy it and many people get cold in their wallet.
This brought the technology a little closer to the common citizen, but it has also generated rejection of the other cryptocurrencies by comparing them with the Petro. They say that there is no bad publicity, I also believe it. I think that in this country the word "cryptocurrency" is more familiar than in others.
Despite this, we are very far from having a massive adoption. Very small part of the population owns cryptocurrency. It seems that the motivation to investigate and look for what it is about, is only for a few; the majority is always comfortable with what they know. Certainly the great crisis we live in has brought many people to look for solutions and in that they have come across HIVE, that is why we are the largest community here. However, if we compare with the people who are out there in the street, the percentage is minimal.
I notice this on Twitter, where I always see someone asking for help because they can't even afford to eat. I recommend HIVE and get no response. Comfort is better than learning the new, the new generates fear and stress.
HIVE is something totally new, for the traditional way of thinking. At first glance it might even seem like part of a scam, "How come I get paid to blog but no one pays because I don't own it". It seems kind of crazy, the incredible system we're building.
People are used to the centralized world. Taking care of the keys, taking charge of their finances is very scary for them. The masses will always look for a leader and throughout history this has been the State, the Church, the Boss, etc. This is why the majority is an employee and not an entrepreneur. In HIVE we have only entrepreneurs; there is no mass. HIVE to date is not designed for the masses. Here there are content creators who are the only ones consuming that content. People don't come here to consume content, to be distracted. Even the ones we have for that, called "curators", are working, generating income and even doing it professionally. It is spending a lot of time looking for quality content.
This is why we can ask ourselves the question: Will Live really appeal to the masses? With over three years of experience in user onboarding, I have seen ordinary people become great content creators. People who never imagined they could be and thanks to HIVE that transformation happened. However, the masses follow another rhythm. Those who are still in HIVE converted and left the matrix. The masses are still asleep and prefer centralization. They prefer a State that governs them and gives them "free" health and education. They prefer an "insured" pension. They prefer the salary of the month. They prefer to love Fridays and hate Mondays.
HIVE is not for everyone. HIVE is creativity every day of the week. Publishing is no longer a job, but an exciting lifestyle. But to live that great lifestyle, you first have to let go of many limiting beliefs and overcome fears. The first thing will be to decide to take responsibility for everything in your lives.
Many say that cryptocurrencies are complicated. This is just an excuse from the masses not to take the helm. Blockchain technology is here to stay, but as long as outside there is an offer of something more comfortable for the masses, it will remain there.

It has also driven the whole blockchain technology. Thousands of companies have been created around the world, including us at HIVE. This community has lasted for 5 years and is still growing in development.
There are many social networks that have not gone mainstream but are successful. In HIVE we don't have to reach the masses, just have a good user base. The good thing is that each community will be in charge of growing its own tribe and creating its own business models. HIVE es algo totalmente nuevo, para el tipo de pensamiento tradicional. A primera vista incluso podría parecer parte de una estafa, "Cómo es eso que me pagan por bloguear pero nadie paga porque no tiene dueño". Parece algo de locos, el sistema tan increíble que estamos construyendo.
Las personas están acostumbradas al mundo centralizado. Cuidar las llaves, hacerse cargo de sus finanzas les da mucho miedo. Prefieren amar los viernes y odiar los lunes.
HIVE no es para todos. HIVE es creatividad todos los días de la semana. Publicar deja de ser un trabajo, para ser un estilo de vida emocionante. Pero para vivir ese gran estilo de vida, primero tienes que desprenderte de muchas creencias limitantes y vencer los miedos. Lo primero será decidir la responsabilidad de todo en sus vidas.
Muchos dicen que las criptomonedas son complicadas. Esto solo es una excusa de las masas para no tomar el timón. La tecnología blockchain llegó para quedarse, pero mientras afuera haya una oferta de algo más cómodo para las masas, seguirá ahí.

¿Esto es malo para HIVE? No lo creo; de hecho la prueba de eso es bitcoin, que no está ni cerca de llegar a las masas pero ya ha hecho ricas a muchas personas. También ha impulsado toda la tecnología blockchain. Miles de empresas creadas al rededor de este mundo, incluídos nosotros en HIVE.
