Aye aye captain. For someone who just decided to follow the Cryptic trend, do you advice that I should just go ahead and buy?

From the little knowledge I have now, Newbies are advised to buy from the Top 100 coins and to carefully observe the Market cap value. What are your thoughts tho? Because I do want to hodl a good coin this year.
