What is cancel culture costing people-Dave Chapelle and Tiwa Savage lose potentially millions of dollars

Hi, Hive and Leofinance, this is the third time I am writing on this topic not because it is my favorite topic but the news always hits me on the face.

Yesterday, Dave Chapelle was on Youtube trending again because he had finally responded to the agitators who had tried to have his show (The Closer) removed and canceled from Netflix.

Netflix CEO has decided not to give the agitators what they want and it has led to more insults to the CEO. There have been rumors that he even fired one of the leaders of the boycott that has been going on in Netflix over leaked information about the amount of money Dave Chappelle was paid, to the public.

All this commotion has led to Dave not being able to air his documentary on any platform because no one wants to be seen as a supporter of Dave.

I think this was their initial intent from the beginning. To destroy his hard work because he said things they did not agree with.

In the 5 mins video where dave responded to the critics, he said that he is willing to sit and talk with those who think what he said was wrong even though he does not think there would be much to talk about.

He gave the conditions for the sit-out.

Those who come for the sit-out have to have seen the closer, he will choose the time and the place and they all have to admit that Hanna Gatsby is not funny.

I quickly searched up Hanna Gatsby and I actually laughed at some of her jokes especially the renaissance woman bit. But if she is in any way wearing her thinking hat she would have known that those jokes she did might be offensive to the Christian community. But no one is lashing out at her so she thinks it is ok to go against Dave because his jokes were about her own community.

Dave's Documentary would have made him millions but he can't release it to a wider audience due to the stigma involved with working with him. This brings me to my second story. The one about Tiwa Savage and her less than 10-seconds long sex tape.

The number of seconds I feel is an important aspect of this because it was a Snapchat video that was taken down immediately after it was put on.

Tiwa Savage responded by not giving the person who laid threats on her to pay a ransom for the video and after it was released it has cost her her endorsement deals.

I think in this case it was right-winged leaders in those companies acting out to protect their image but they fail to realize that many Nigerians either do not care about the issue or are pissed that the video was released oooor they pervs...

They chose the side of the pervs apparently by canceling their endorsements arrangement with Tiwa.

I think it's going to get worse and eventually the common man on the street will start losing out of this whole cancel culture movement.

When will we stop caving to the pressure of irrational thinkers?

Or are these people right and am I missing something in all this?
