October Side-Gig Month - LBI Giveaway!

Yes, it's here - we love saving money and we like making money even more! Every Saturday for 5 Saturdays, we're going to look at opportunities to earn a little on the side that don't require qualifications or a huge outlay in capital. Last week, we had great feedback from @phoenixwren about selling things through Etsy and Ebay - check your wallet for an extra LBI!

This week we are going to look at the opportunity to sell skills! Here's a few ideas:

• handy-person - are you any good at putting up shelves, clocks, curtains? Can you assemble flatpacks or do other odd-jobs around the home?
• gardener - like the above, can you mow lawns, cut hedges, weed and water, sweep paths?

I've seen both the above advertised on a notice-board in my local convenience store - the bottom edge of the notice has been cut into little slips, attached by a small strip at the top of the slip to the main notice, with the phone number of the person offering their skills, so interested people can just tear off a slip. These are often small-scale low-key jobs that people need help with and you can arrange times to suit yourself.

• garment-maker - any good at knitting, dressmaking or crochet? you might get commissions or you could make garments to sell on Etsy.
• good at touch-typing, proof-reading and editing - look at freelance opportunities.
• freelance copywriting or writing magazine articles and stories is another opportunity.

More about EDS tokens

EDS tokens are a low-risk income token, ideal for people who want to save. There were only 20,000 originally and they were all sold at 1 Hive each, with guaranteed earnings of 12% each year. You can now acquire EDS tokens through the EDS Miner token.

Earnings come from powering up and leasing out the Hive that came from selling the tokens, plus earnings from posts and comments each week. EDS pays out every Monday evening. Last week the pay out was equivalent to 23%.

1. Check Progress

Each week, we're going to check in through this post and see where we are up to. Our target for today, 9 October, was 19.53p. Next week, we'll be saving 20.02p and by Saturday we'll have saved 417.80p (that's 41,780p just compounding a penny a day)! 😁.

Each week, I'll be buying Hive for @susie-saver's account with the pennies we've saved.

Here's this week's results - 19.53p buys 22.04 Hive. 910 Hive powered up in 41 weeks and the remainder invested in EDS and EDSM! Plus we're earning 3.22% inflation on powered up Hive, 20% on EDSM, 23% on EDS tokens and a little on curating and posting!
