This is terrible, no one can deny that. Watching businesses collapse, especially small ones, that were only putting food on the table, without the owner going rich, is heartbreaking.

I hate the idea of scoring on someone else's misery and broken dreams, but if you don't someone else will.

This is true and I know what you mean. On the other hand if you don't buy the property or business, those people can't move one or put food on the table either. These are times when rich get richer and poor get even poorer. For some this is heaven.
