After a day of reading all about crypto posts, I decided to do something a little different. Since this site is about finance, I wanted to add a little personal to that finance moniker and post something that will help ease the pressure on your wallet. In this age of shrinking income and fast-disappearing stimulus check, we could use all the help we can get.

One of the things we all do, is make use of technology in content creation and managing our digital assets. From news tips to blogging, the experience has now become a portable one. An increasing number of people are making a living in developing countries using tiny devices, in order to make a big impact in their quality of life.

You know what I'm talking about, right? The cellphone. Prices range from the most basic feature phone, all the way up to the most advanced flagship iPhone and that's what I'm here to talk about today.

I learned a long time ago, that there is often no need to pay full price for almost any product. Timing your purchases, can result in significant savings. Today, I'm going to share two of the tactics I use to save when picking up a new handset.

One step back

If you watch phone prices over time, you can begin to see the numbers fall as time goes on. I've seen that if I'm just willing to wait between six months and a year, I could get the model that I want, while only paying half the price. Mid-tier cellphones that made their debut last year at $500, can now be found for half the price. The numbers seem to go down in 90-day increments. So the longer you delay whipping out that credit card, the more you can save. Not to mention looking for sales after the holidays, over the Summer and during the late winter months. Good deals can be found for the savvy hunter.

Begin again renewed

Love the iPhone> There's yet another great way to get a good price on tech from out favorite fruit company. Head on over to the main Apple.com website and scroll way down to the bottom. Under the "Apple Store" heading, you will see a section titled "Refurbished and Clearance." What many people don't realize, is that Apple recycles handsets that have either been returned or offers new models that they are attempting to clear out. On Amazon, they'd be referred to as being "renewed" and something similar is being done here. Apple checks each phone out to make sure it works properly. Head on over to the Apple Refurbished Store and you'll find the iPhone, Macs, the Apple Watch and other gear available at a discount.

Looking for a refurbished iPhone? The Space Gray 64GB iPhone 11 Pro is yours for $759, that's a savings of $140 off of list price and it's unlocked. Going back a couple generations, nets you the Space Gray 256GB iPhone X unlocked, for $679, saving you 370 bucks. Now Apple doesn't just ship you somebody's banged up yakker, covered in fingerprints and bubblegum, they pack in a new battery, outer shell along with a one-year warranty for peace of mind. Take a look around as the collection is updated whenever new stock is available. Why pay full price? Let other people do that and you can take the money you save and buy more crypto! :)

Thank You So Much!
