A couple of hours before the day of Christmas and while i was scrolling on Twitter for giveaways (don't judge me) i saw a series of 3 posts by LeoFinance.

These posts originally came a little after this post that was about the top authors on Leo and there was also a comparison between Hive payouts, just for the sake of statistics.

So apparently some witnesses felt and feel that LeoFinanc is bad for Hive and that:

“We talk negatively about them/#hive” “community continues to compare hive & Leo which makes hive look bad”

Truth be told, i got frustrated a bit and wanted to write a post about this as soon as saw the first Leo post but at the same time, i said to myself "Chill till the Christmas day passes" and the fire ahead!

So my title was a bit of exaggeration, in my mind at least (marketing 101) but let's dig more into it after my lengthy intro!

Hive & Leo Are Tied Together

So for all those that are still unaware, Leo is basically a second-layer tribe that revolves around Finance content. We got many and different tribes and that is the result of a major update and long dream that would take Hive on the next level!

After that update, each person could create his/her own tribe and token, maintaining all the benefits of being on the Hive Blockchain! So after creating a tribe, each member individually or collectively is trying to make their tribes better and ofc to increase the value of the current token!

Now i am someone who is close to 4 years on Steemit/Hive so i have seen things. LeoFinace, @khaleelkazi, and the core team behind the project have basically dedicated themselves to make this project work.

Up until now, they managed it, i don't remember a community that listens to its users so much and constantly announcing updates. That's the truth, whether some people like it or not.

Debunking The Negative Claims

Onboarding

Precisely because of that everyone should be happy around Hive. Having a community with huge success like this is only good news for the rest but why?

Because we are chained, linked, tied together but some don't seem to understand it. To begin with, Leo made the whole onboarding process extremely easy and we don't have to wait. But even if we let this slide just check this diagram below.

Now think this, and think it carefully. Nowadays more and more people are searching for ways to earn money online as well as more security regarding this. They will search through the internet or their social media and probably will click "Top way to earn money online" and such.

A very tiny percentage of them will find Hive, or LeoFinance just the way i found Steemit almost 4 years ago. Some of them will join and try it out. Let's just assume that we have 1000 people that were onboarded on LeoFinance.

*Do you think those people will remain on Leo?

If you believe the answer is yes, you guessed wrong. If you remember what i said above, people came here, because it's a way to earn money online. It's not that they like posting Finance content.

Sooner or later they will also find out about Hive and guess what, they already have an account. Then they will search for a tribe that suits their taste and boom! You have a new person, that onboarded through Leo but is on a completely different Tribe on Hive Ecosystem!

Negative Claims

A thing that those people mentioned was the negativity towards Hive, from Leo. I am one of the authors/users that are extremely active and for around a month now i am in the top 11 sorted by comments

Aside from the commenting part, to get to that point means that i read a lot of posts as well. The truth is, that there are some negative comments towards Hive but it's only a tiny percentage, something like 5% maybe less.

Now note that i keep repeating this phrase on purpose because i want to tie it with my name and remember me easier. Hive is like a mother to all dapps and these dapps are the Children. Both are trying to take care of each other and grow together. That's exactly what's happening!

Now let's come back to the negativity part. Do you actually know why these people are negative? I will tell you and get ready because it's the harsh truth.

Some of those people haven't seen any major Hive updates for ages while they see Leo ones each week. What do you believe will think? Also, remember what happened after @blocktrades announced their Roadmap? Everyone went crazy and super excited, so this type of negative people just wanna see progress.

The other half cares a lot more about the money aspect than you think. They didn't come here for the community just like each and every single one of us, we came for money. Some remained for the community like me and others not.

This kind of people will go wherever money is. Now it's Leo, tomorrow will be @StemGeeks, maybe the day after will be i don't know the weed community. They will dump Leo at the speed of light!

Add to that the fact that every altcoin had a huge pump. When people see everything around them going crazy, don't you think they want their bag of altcoins to be the same?

If they remain stable or drop a little bit, don't you think they'll start the negative comments? Leo is double than Hive, so it's natural for those people to "attack" Hive. If Leo was in that position, it will surely be the one "attacked"

Conclusion

This is simple psychology and most people already get it, that's why you don't see a war erupt between Leo and Hive, or Hive and every other tribe.

With the poor logic that Leo is bad for Hive, it's like we divide Hive and its tribes. It's like we are saying that every tribe and its token should be under Hive in value because if they end up having more value they are a threat.

No no and no. The more value these tokens get, the more motivation the current users will have and more new users will join! I don't wanna start assuming what those witnesses were actually thinking when saying all this nonsense but i am glad the majority of people actually get it and see far ahead!

*I could have written a lot more but now i actually realized how long this post is
