Let's do a Giveaway based on Performance
I think it's about time you all familiarize yourself with liquidity pools and what that means for the stability of respective tokens.
To start it creates some volume scarcity which as a consequence, increases some pressure on the value. But the most important part is not actually the price (especially at the beginning), but instead the volume.
People investing in liquidity pools will not really benefit much from short-duration participation. Price will be very volatile and if you don't know your game, my recommendation is to don't touch it (the investment I mean).
Example
This is one that I will use for this Giveaway too, so let's get on to it. Using https://beeswap.dcity.io/ and filtering for STARBITS (main currency from #risingstar game), you can see two pools, one paring STARBITS with PIZZA and another pairing STARBITS with SWAP.HIVE.
So, in the above example if you would like to buy STARBITS, you could easily swap either your PIZZA or your SWAP.HIVE for it. Although there is a catch here... if you are in a rush of swapping a lot of volume, and if the pool can't yet absorb that amount, you will pay some discrepancy in terms of "price impact".
Use Case 1 - I don't care!
Let's imagine I want to swap around 10 HIVE (SWAP.HIVE) to STARBITS. Because there is not enough liquidity yet on the pool, the price impact will increase and, in this swap I would lose between 2% and 2.5%.
Still very cheap, but just as an example to compare against the next use case.
Use Case 2 - I am super patient...
In this case, you can either use the normal market and put a very low buy order, waiting for it to be consumed, or you can also use the liquidity pool, but instead of swapping the total value in one go, do it in smaller values waiting some time in between them. This will create less impact on the liquidity pool and will also give time for adjustments, providing you (potentially) with a cheaper end result.
In this case, the impact is almost 4x less, and if the market does not go weird, I might be able to swap a much better deal, doing it around 10 times (to reach the same 10 HIVE on the previous case).
Note: Once there is enough liquidity in the pool, this becomes irrelevant and you can just swap larger values with minimal impact. There is also nothing preventing you from being impatient LOL ๐คฃ

This will be the part where everyone will start asking questions. But, I decided to go with the experiment. And the draw of this card will only be done, once the total fees earned on the STARBITS:SWAP.HIVE pool go above $300 in value on three consecutive days.
