I haven't seen #projectblank in action and by the looks of it very few have.

But the information that has been drip-fed to us about it so far make me very optimistic about its future.

By the way, how long will we keep calling it 'project blank'? That slowly becomes a brand and it will actually require a rebranding effort to change the name.

Unless the strategy is to keep it...

But let's get back on track.

Hive community spends probably more time engaging in discord chat rooms and on Twitter than they actually do on Hive.

And if that engagement is not accounted for on Hive, you can't actually measure it and say: Hey, we might be 10,000 active users, but look at the engagement levels!

That will change with Leo's microblogging app, as every interaction will be written on Hive as a comment.

The interface will be very Twitter-like - says Khal - which will make onboarding someone from Twitter a very smooth experience.

At the same time, Khal believes some of the general talks that are currently held on discord will move to the microblogging app, thus on Hive.

The example he gave in the latest round table was if someone wanted to follow the general discussion about bitcoin on ProjectBlank.

One would search 'blanks' by using #bitcoin, just like on Twitter, read through them and start writing their own 'blanks' to contribute to the discussion.

He also said engagement on ProjectBlank will be encouraged, and even if you post 10,000 a day nobody will give you a hard time. I don't know if that means there won't be any downvote button on the interface or not.

Actually the top most engaged 'blanks' every day will be upvoted by the official leo-voter account.

Voting on 'blanks' will give rewards in the new ProjectBlank token, however it will be called, and in Hive.

We will have to be careful about that, because given the high number of 'blanks' and their short nature, we might deplete our Hive voting power by accident.

To not do that there is one sure method: to have a distinct account for the microblogging app.

I don't know if the alternative method we are using to balance voting power weights for Hive-Engine tribes, via the VP multipliers will be available in the case of ProjectBlank.

Anyway, by all appearances because we haven't seen it yet, ProjectBlank and all helper projects introduce many innovations in the Hive ecosystem. I dare say they are comparable to the introduction and usage for the first time of custom-jsons by Splinterlands, if I'm not mistaken.

We are talking about a new way to interpret the data stored on the blockchain as comments, plus the layer between user and blockchain that improves speed and UX in general. We are talking about simple onboarding process.

All with direct impact to user's experience. That's why I am optimistic about the adoption of this microblogging app.
