He means that one should use the keyword(s) in the link text, and not drop the link directly. On images, the image "text" (the part you include between []) can be edited to include keywords as well. Same for videos.

Here's something that helps... I believe. If we set this 1000 words as a threshold (probably a good one), we have to keep in mind search engine crawlers don't make distinction between the main post and comments. Or they might, but putting slight emphasis on comments, because they show engagement and because they are less likely to be optimized for search engines. So, if a 300 words post generates another 700 words in well written comments, that's still 1000.
