Let's see what we have for this week's roundup.

Week on Hive

Splinterlands Celebrating 5 Years Since Launch

Splinterlands was announced and launched on May 26th, 2018. That is 5 years ago! To celebrate this huge milestone, they are holding a month-long anniversary event.

Congratulations, Splinterlands, on all the accomplishments throughout these 5 years, and thanks for sticking around during bad times!

Leofinance News

Last weekend the Leofinance team wanted to stress-test Threads by having a weekend battle to "slay monsters" on Zealy (out-thread top threaders). Participants ended up creating around 50k threads.

Khal was also a guest at Crypto Maniacs this week, and that's a podcast to listen to if you are interested in Leofinance.

And finally, among many other regular updates, the Publishing UI on the new Leofinance interface finally got its turn for a significant update.

Decks 2.0, Waves, and More from Ecency

Ecency came out with an update to their browser app (desktop app to follow) where they added Decks 2.0, Waves, and other elements, as described in this post. I wasn't aware there was a Decks 1.0, but I had a look at Decks 2.0. Seems like a good way to organize, display and interact with what interests you the most by applying filters to each column that is displayed.

SPK Network Dev Talk - Bitcoin, Monero, and More on Hive?

This week's SPK Network's team meeting recording was short and interesting. In the first part, the talk was about Proof of Access for the SPK Network. But in the second part, the dev talked about the DEX he's creating and how they're thinking to operate with Bitcoin, Monero, Hive, and other coins on that DEX. Some parts are still yet to be thought about.

If I remember correctly, I think Dan and Matt touched on the subject too in their CTT podcast from this week.

Rising Star Launched Raves

On Friday, Rising Star launched Raves, as announced here. They worked on this and tested it for a long time, so I hope it will prove a great addition to the game. They also published a Raves tutorial, for those interested.

Ragnarok UI and Dev Updates

Ragnarok published this week a comprehensive UI and dev update. Get ready, it's a long read.

Week in the Crypto World

Bitcoin Pizza Day While Bitcoin Is Transforming

You were probably bombarded by Bitcoin Pizza Day messages on or close to May 22nd. It's been 13 years since the first commercial use of Bitcoin (and therefore, crypto), and a day worth celebrating.

It's interesting that this year it comes as the Bitcoin network is subject to a sort of indirect takeover assault. At least that's how I interpret the forced transformation of Bitcoin into Ethereum, little by little and piece by piece.

Get Ready to be Scanned!

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, secured USD 115m in funding for the crypto ID project Worldcoin, which involves a retinal scan, face and body too, all high-resolution. It's funny to see how these kinds of tools are presented as "Tools for Humanity". Do read, to know what to expect.
