Turning a Hobby into a source of income / Convirtiendo un Hobby en una fuente de ingresos

Something that can determine our progress or performance in what we do is the motivation we have to do it, and there are several forms of motivation, which would be the external one (associated with money or some incentive that we can find outside of us) and the internal one (which refers to the motivation that comes from us and no matter what exists on the outside).
Both motivations are valid for what we want to achieve and have different characteristics, as in the case of money, because when there is no money there is no motivation either, or in the case of an intrinsic motivation, where we stay longer in a job in spite of not receiving money, but because it makes us feel good when we do it.
Already understanding this, I want to comment that when we make a Hobby become a source of income, we can combine the happiness that it brings us to do this activity, with something necessary to live, and the reason why I say this is that I want to make clear that asking for money for what we offer, even when we enjoy it, is not a bad thing.
And when we do something that we like inside us, we are going to give a much higher quality and that can be reflected in the product or service we deliver, but also the way we take care of customers, workers and really the whole process of our business or work, which influences our environment in a positive way.
Personally I think that making our Hobby become our main source of income can lead us to a moment of constant happiness, or that it can last longer, since as we are changing beings, it is possible that what we like today, tomorrow we will stop liking, and in this case we will have already created a lot of value with our time of service in what we liked.
For this to happen we can think of indirect ways to sell what we do (if we can't directly), as in the case of selling products that we use, courses, giving advice about it or creating an environment that can support those who want to practice what we like (gym for example), among other things that we could think of and that are associated with what we do.
And to finish with this article, I want to comment on some benefits of doing what we like as a main source of income, and it is that we will achieve much more for less effort, we will create an atmosphere of harmony in what surrounds us, and we will be able to feel better with our life. All this attracts other secondary benefits that can make our life have more positive moments than negative ones, and those negative ones feel very small compared to the rest of the time we are happy.

Algo que puede determinar nuestro progreso o rendimiento en lo que hacemos es la motivación que tenemos para hacerlo, y existen varias formas de motivación, que serían la externa (asociada al dinero o algún incentivo que podamos encontrar fuera de nosotros) y la interna (que se refiere a la motivación que sale desde nosotros y sin importar lo que exista en el exterior).
Ambas motivaciones son válidas para lo que queremos lograr y tienen características distintas, como en el caso del dinero, porque cuando no hay dinero tampoco hay motivación, o en el caso de una motivación intrínseca, donde nosotros nos mantenemos más tiempo en una labor a pesar de no recibir dinero, pero porque nos hace sentir bien cuando lo hacemos.
Ya entendiendo esto, quiero comentarles que cuando hacemos que un Hobby se convierta en una fuente de ingreso, podemos combinar la felicidad que nos trae hacer esta actividad, con algo necesario para vivir, y la razón por la que digo esto es que quiero que quede claro que pedir dinero por lo que ofrecemos, aun cuando lo disfrutamos, no es algo malo.
Y cuando hacemos algo que nos gusta en el interior de nosotros, vamos a dar una calidad mucho mayor y que se puede reflejar en el producto o servicio que entregamos, pero también la manera en que atendemos a los clientes, trabajadores y realmente todo el proceso de nuestro negocio o trabajo, lo que influye de manera positiva a nuestro entorno.
Personalmente pienso que hacer que nuestro Hobby se convierta en nuestra fuente de ingresos principal puede llevarnos a un momento de felicidad constante, o que pueda durar más tiempo, ya que como somos seres cambiantes, es posible que lo que nos gusta hoy, mañana deje de gustarnos, y en este caso ya habremos creado mucho valor con nuestro tiempo de servicio en lo que nos gustaba.
Para que esto ocurra podemos pensar en formas indirectas de vender lo que hacemos (si no podemos de forma directa), como en el caso de vender productos que nosotros usamos, cursos, dar asesorías al respecto o crear un ambiente que pueda apoyar a quienes quieran practicar aquello que nos gusta (gimnasio por ejemplo), entre otras cosas que podríamos pensar y que están asociados a lo que hacemos.
Y para finalizar con este artículo, quiero comentarles sobre algunos beneficios de hacer lo que nos gusta como una fuente de ingresos principal, y es que lograremos mucho más por menos esfuerzo, crearemos un ambiente de armonía en aquello que nos rodea, y nos podremos sentir mejores con nuestra vida. Todo esto atrae otros beneficios secundarios que pueden hacer que nuestra vida tenga más momentos positivos que negativos, y que aquellos negativos se sientan muy pequeños en comparación con el resto del tiempo en que estamos felices.
