THE WEB 3.0

Web 3.0 which is the internet “craze” is like a decentralised system where there is no central point of control more less like a block chain, and the data in this system are encrypted.

In this new phase of the internet, the end user remains in control over their data, and this data are encrypted you can only gain access to it through your specific seed phrase which would make it difficult for hackers to penetrate. For hackers to gain unauthorised access, they have to shut down the entire system.

Web 3.0 aims to reach the user launching smart applications that will solely make use of Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for its daily objectives and functionality.
This era of internet will make use of behavioural advertising which we have seen in use in some search engines.
Unlike the era of web 2.0 where the aim was to reach a community or a group, the type of applications launched were basically web apps nothing above board and the type of advertising practiced was an interactive one.

Web 3.0 is trying to build a bridge between the past and the future, it has become a fuzz due the launch of decentralised finance and Non fungible tokens products respectively. The launched of Metaverse which is a digitalised world built on the backbone of the Web in 3.0, has given us the opportunity to buy and sell NFT’s in form of real estate, audio, arts etc.,

WHY DOES WEB 3.0 MATTER?

The present internet model which is the Web 2.0 has seen platforms like YouTube, for Vloggers, audio streaming platform like Apple Music, tidal, for audio materials and medium for writers get rich over the content posted by the users in which the users are not compensated appropriately and over the past years these platforms has seen exceeding growth which are built at cost on the shoulders of the users. Web 3.0 has bridged that gap by giving the creators sole ownership of their works and it’s rewards.

Incoming days will witness some changes in the internet Exo structure seen the integration of Web 2.0 apps to Web 3.0 Dapps i.e. Browsers like google chrome would be the brave browser, for the online storage app like google drive and drop box will be replaced by Storj & IPFS, for video and audio calls like Skype will be replaced by Experty, the operating system are not left out like the now android and iOS OS will be replaced by EOS, Essentia.one, the social network the likes of Facebook and Twitter will be replaced by Steemit, Hive, and Akasha, messaging apps like WhatsApp and Wechat will be replaced by Status and lasting for remote platform like Upwork will see replacement like Ethiance.

I made use of the word replace because these Web 3.0 dapps is giving Web 2.0 apps a run for their money and might rightly put them out of business.

For instance, using the Hive blockchain as a case study for the few days I have spent here on hive I see posts being upvoted and the creator getting paid in hive’s native tokens which is a great development in seen the growth of decentralized applications and the Web 3.0.

The third phase of the internet gives the users the privilege of creating communities on social platforms where you find users of like minds and same thought process. This I have also discovered as I explore the Hive blockchain, a few days into the system I have been able to educate my small audience about my profession and also be able to learn about the fuzzing eco-system cryptocurrency through the Leo finance community.
