More Engagement

I have always believed in the fact that manual curation would be the absolute best option for growth, acknowledgement and success. Not only for yourselves, but for the entire platform..

I always knew that it would lead to great things. Nothing is perfect though and there will always be consequences regardless of your actions. Someone will always be there to take advantage of things as soon as they find some sort of loophole. We will never get rid of them, but we can counter their actions.

As soon as people talk about manual curation we often see the 'naysayers' quickly state things like that the "last minute voters" would jump in with self-votes in an attempt to 'steal' as much as possible. I am not here to talk about that being true or not, because I am positive of that fact as well. Those users will do that, but those same users are doing everything they can to 'steal' regardless, so there's literally no difference. While manual curation might help those people to earn more, we have to see things from a different perspective.

It's easy to focus on the negative, but we need to see the positive things. It is impossible to ignore the positive effect manual curation has. And that is what I am about to share with you:

How To Earn Crypto From Blogging In 2021

Top 20 Author During My FIRST Month On LEO!

This is the first thing I want to mention. Engagement. These are two of my previous articles and you can see that both of them have a decent amount of comments on them. I probably stand for 50% of those comments though, as I strive to reply and talk with my audience. In this case, it basically means that I try to respond to any comments I get on my articles. I personally think that it's the "right thing" to do, but it is also to be seen as appreciation. My audience spent time making a comment, asking me a question or whatever and they deserve an answer. They deserve my attention.

This also eventually leads to more engagement as my audience quickly realizes that I am a user who don't ignore or neglect my audience. I care about them, I treat them with respect and I reply to whatever they have to say. That is professionalism and it will encourage and motivate my audience to comment on my future content as well.

That being said though, your first thought now might be that it's obvious that my most rewarded articles are the ones that gets the most comments, or the ones that leads to the most engagement.

That is actually why I linked to these articles. Have a look at them. I'll wait..

As you can see, the one with less comments are the one that has the most pending rewards. In fact, there's a rather huge difference in terms of rewards. The one with less engagement has about 50% more pending rewards.. This means that rewards does not automatically transition into engagement.

I know that it can be difficult to understand the most logical things every now and then, so instead of assuming that you actually understand exactly why manual curation has anything to do with engagement, I will clarify it for you:

LeoFinance, Hive or any of the other communities you can think of, all of them are social. We share content and content creators or authors, all of them wants to share things with an audience that cares about the content. They want to share things with people that consume the content.

Manual curation leads to more content consuming, which results in more engagement because people have opinions. They have questions. The have something to add or they want to thank you for the things they learned or for something you showed them. They are more likely to make comments because they actually read the article or watched the video.

Manual curators are not likely to just vote on whatever content they find, so they will consume the content before making the decision on whether to vote or not. That is how simple it is. That is why manual curation leads to more engagement.

More Rewards

This might sound weird for some as we have learned that auto-votes are essential and crucial to rake in rewards. Auto-votes are perfect for passive curation rewards. It gives you the opportunity to curate and reward specific authors continuously without even being active..

It doesn't matter if you are online when the author publish content or not. All it takes is that the user you have put on auto is active and produce content. While auto-votes will continue to have that effect, manual curation is proven to work and yield more rewards.

These two screenshots are from the same two posts I mentioned above. While this at first glance might not mean much, as most people would probably look at the voter and the value of the vote. However we will ignore that and focus on the time instead. In these screenshots you will see when a user voted, which can be seen in the after column.

16 minutes, 25 minutes. I guess I published my content at a decent time. Luck was certainly involved as I am far from being the only user they follow. I am just one out of hundreds of people. That also means that my post is one out of hundreds, so it is obviously easy to miss posts, or ignore them, because it would be impossible to read everything. It depends on when you post, when your audience is online, when they curate and if they have enough LP (VP) left to vote with. That said, there are several factors that plays a role for each upvote you get.

However, we can also see 1 hour, 2 hours and more than that. Well-more than that.. This basically mean that these curators are browsing through their feeds, curator picks or that they are browsing the latest posts that has been published. With luck involved and all these other things I mentioned previously, I also managed to get votes 1 day after I published my content..

That means that people are reading older content as well, and if and when they see anything they like, they will reward it due to the new reward curve. Regardless of the age of the content.

Last but not least..

This Gives Us A STRONGER Community.
