Trust Wallet joined the other applications and launched its web browser extension and is available on Google Chrome, Opera, Edge and Brave. It supports different blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, and popular EVM chains like Polygon, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain. and its own TWT Smart Chain.

According to the site, the wallet can auto-detect networks which makes it easy to use in any DeFi and Web 3 dApps. To check if it was true, I tested it out with CubFinance and at least it asks to switch chains when connecting which I observed that Metamask doesn't do (Metamask simply won't connect to CubFi if your wallet is not on the correct network).

Initial Set Up

It's pretty easy and straight forward like other web wallet extensions. You can either create a new one or simply import your existing wallet.

Importing is super easy. It just requires you to enter your Seed Phrase on the provided fields, set a password, choose whether to use it as your default web browser wallet or not and you're done. Nothing complicated.

Wallet Interface at first glance

These are merely my initial observations after installing the extension.

PROS

  • Most used networks are pre-added so you don't need to manually set them up.

  • Very simple UI and none that can be confusing.

  • Tokens and coins can be easily added by just typing on the search button and enabling the slider. No need to copy and paste contract addresses like that on Metamask.

  • Pretty intuitive that it detects the network when connecting to decentralized applications (dApps).

CONS

  • No dark mode or any other theme available.

  • Cannot add multiple accounts or wallet addresses.

  • It doesn't support display of NFTs

  • No hardware wallet support yet.

To be fair, this web wallet extension was newly released so let's give it some time and perhaps, there will probably be some tweaks or upgrades in the horizon.

For infotainment only. This is not an endorsement. Do your own due diligence if you intend on using the application.
