I know a few players who are buying tons of the old rewards cards for the CP. It only takes a few committed buyers to get things moving. In the last rally I was systematically buying floors with a few hundred bucks here or there and sparking rallies from fomo. My was almost single handedly responsible for the rise in Mylor prices just by picking off floors at pivotal moments lol. Good times I can't wait to get back to :)

I've been buying a good chunk of rewards cards because when they hit bottom, many of them were renting for 100% APR in a pure DEC calculation. In one of my posts last week I showed a screenshot where many the common rewards cards had over 50k units for sale and a few days later that dropped to 20k for most of them. I think that was a mix of buying and bot owners taking thousands off the market and combining them to sell them quicker. It worked because the rental value is crazy. I've probably spend a good $400 or $500 on rewards cards that I've maxed and thrown on the rental market in the past few weeks.

A few days ago I bought a bunch of Alpha Epics that dropped to around $20. Those are all $100 cards and will be again I think. I've been picking up some under $10 chickens because with only 27k still around, if we hit a supply shortage, those are the most played card in the game and high level esports players and guilds will all need them. And anyoen who watches them will realize how critical they are.

And in the last few days I've opened about 165 CL packs.

My next goal is to load up on Gold common cards. I think those are going to become way more important.

I'm trying to think of what the game would look like if we get a few million palyers by the end of the year and they are all renting. The idea of an actual shortage in cards and what that might look like. I don't play much and when I do its in bronze and silver. Those leagues are just bots running the same few teams that are completely available in the starter deck and absolutely dominant over all older cards including the older legendaries and epics.

But if we get a few million players, those decks will not be readily available to everyone anymore which means play will need to get a lot more creative and cards that aren't currently seeing much use will have to start seeing a lot more. Also, those newly created teams will have a chance to win because they won't be facing the same bot team over and over again that just dominates.

I think the game will be a lot more fun then. Way less mechanical and I'm actually looking forward to playing it again. For months in bronze its just been run a few teams, hope for the win. Get five wins eventually. Get one chest with a potion or 3 credits in it. Repeat tomorrow.

So now I'm trying to think of the game as expanding into these other cards and figuring out where I think rental value will end up since that's always going to be my main income source here. I'm also stacking DEC because I think we get one last hurrah there before they change the system to push dec value into SPS and lock DEC in place. I also want to max out that SPS airdrop in these last 65 days and DEC and cheap rewards cards are the best way to do it.

A lot to think about. I'm absolutely excited about splinterlands again.
