The study of open rates might have shown that the open rate of an email marketing campaign varies greatly depending on the industry and the communication medium.

But those of us who have tried our hands in this field understand that readers didn't open those emails of ours because we had been trying to sell them something. Even though we had been told to offer value first before we start selling, our readers could already see right through us.

But list nerd takes this away completely, we know we will be getting value not being told to buy something at the bottom of the letter.
